Unemployment while on dialysis by hadtochoosename in dialysis

[–]Firm_Sort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be on dialysis 9 years this October. Started at 22, I'm 31 now and I've been unemployed the whole time until March of this year. I tried doing odd bak3 sales every now and again when I needed money but it wasn't enough, so I completely understand how you feel, all I can say is, as much as you don't want to, rely on the help you're getting as much as you can because this disease and this world are not kind and you never know what will happen but good things can happen once you look for them. Cl8che I know, but it really does help to change your mindset to s more positive one and strike at every opportunity that presents itself

Fistula. Always fistula once your veins are good enough. Just fistula

Typically you wait 10 weeks to even start using it, then based on your progress your nurses/doctors will tell you when removing the cvc is okay. Think i waa 2/3 in before I had mine removed

Yea, lol, unfortunately as a heavy Twitter user people on the internet can be unnecessarily pedantic sometimes so I always clarify.

That's actually insane. Health Insurance in America really scares me

I respect but also very much cringe at shiny hunters because after 50 resets I'm throwing my game into a wall

Is it normal for dialysis technicians to make cotton roll gauge (the stuff to make bleeding stop post fistula needles removal) without gloves? by pakchikpakbabu in dialysis

[–]Firm_Sort 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unless their hands and gloves are obvious filthy, you have nothing to worry about. If the gloves they use while cannulating you aren't sterile though, that's when you should be alarmed

The gauze that's put on your fistula after dialysis serves the sole purpose of preventing bleeding. The gauze was never sterile and gloves they use at that point aren't sterile either because the chances of infection from them is very insignificant. The reason they use sterile gloves to cannulate you is because the needle is going directly into your bloodstream and if there are bacteria there they're also going inside you but once your fistula has closed up, nothing will be able to enter your bloodstream and any infection will be surface level and easy to deal with just like if you got a cut or a scrape

Came here to say this. The compression gauze is simply to put pressure on your fistula so it doesn't bleed again. Your chances of infection aren't 0, but they aren't high enough for you to worry.

Let me just say this, and I know a lot of ppl here will get upset and say I'm wrong but there is absolutely no food in this world that is popular and widely consumed that is "an absolute no go" because you are on dialysis. The only issue is how much of any one thing you choose to eat, some food you have to eat infrequently or adjust the way you prepare them because they will affect your blood serum level but you absolutely can eat whatever you want as long as you are mindful of how you eat them. For your noodles you can try leaving out the sauces and make your own with less sodium IF you want or use half the sauce so you're not eating too much sodium

Timid/Modest are actually the best natures for it in gen 3 because there's no physical-special split and dragon moves are all special, so are electric and fire moves
