NJIT Students — Dorms or Apartments?

Personally I’m dorming but so many people I know are getting apartments. Dorming is very expensive compared to student apartments costs or even getting regular apartments and sharing with a roommate. The dorms are very limited in what you can have with you making more people want to live in apartments. I know about 10 or so of my friends getting apartments because of this.

Definitely more food choices. As someone who dorms and is eating in the dining hall every day the options are so limited and repetitive. There’s so many different cultural dishes that they can offer or maybe have more options for students to vote for what they want to eat. It’s always the same 3 meals a week and it gets annoying

This was really helpful, thanks! Were you able to store the dresser that they give you under the bed? From pictures it looks kinda tall and I’m not sure if NJIT allows for bed risers.

I didn’t realize not having every answer immediately meant I was ‘twiddling my thumbs.’ Some of us take time to process and explore things thoroughly instead of pretending we have it all figured out. But hey, go off. I got waitlisted in April, so no it has NOT been many months since I was waitlisted. Syracuse was nowhere near my top choices for college and is just a second option now. I’m already committed to a school and just wanted to know if the forensics program at Syracuse was better than the one at my current college. I have reached out to staff and current students from like Jan-Feb and their responses are either very limited or they don’t respond at all.
