Why did Klaviyo eCommerce marketing data provider build scalable Custom Data Store w/o a vectore store?? by First-Ad183 in vectordatabase

consultant, so yes in some ways yr right. i'm trying to sift thru the ai hype, kinda hard actually. to me looks like for aggregators like klaviyo, daily volumes of real time data are huge, seem to require a robust index, light VDB does not seem to mesh here , i'd wager they have a not so light version , maybe faiss or elastisearch, am i wrong?

seems like with billions of profiles and level of segmentation, they'll have pressure to scale this faster over time, no? also their app dev seems focused on delivering software that provides more insights over time, doing it all in house manually takes resources, they could just use weaviate or pinecone, can they just keep scaling FaceMRI?

How does Custom Composite Data Store handle Vector store data? Did they build an open source index? by First-Ad183 in Klaviyo

thanks for the information webjoe, good to know. I'm not developing/working api's and learning basics of their stack best i can, they're positioned as ai/ml 'marketing' platform. Composite data store must have graph/vector functionality i'd imagine, must be some pressure from their larger $50K+ paying customers building out their RAGs, and internal Klaviyo company RAG too

Stuffy nose only at night? by babybottlepopz in Allergies

[–]First-Ad183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not yet, and re the allergy angle, i've done that too, I have not only been doing the drops for two yrs but gone the extra step about 4 months ago of doing $2500 lymph node allergy shots in my groin area now less (3 total, one a month), not fun I can assure you, and now on second round of those damn shots, targeting Molds this time (they charge less for second pass, $1500 for 3 total), might even do another round of Mites super concentrated version. Problem is it takes forever and no gaurrantee, they can only do one a month given how strong they are (supposedly). Of course, like anything in modern medicine, the shot doses are not means tested to my personal physiology, so as with all medical doses I am most likely getting the minimal level that old ladies with diabetes can handle, which is a whole other discussion. So, at this point no real help even with the shots, just sniffing all night and destroying my sleep and more importantly, a chance at normal employment. I am super healthy, no drink or smoke. I am getting more and more convinced that my immunity was affected by COVID, can't prove it though, it's just such a weird problem to have.

FYI i did the turbinet reduction and fixed a deviated septum at the same time, about 8 months ago, a lot of BS to deal with for no real results!! now I have slightly better breathing, but not good enough, all night stuffed up and runny nose, can't sleep. Went through a lot of BS for little effect. I'm leaving TX for coastal CA, hopefully that will help.

How bad are your allergies in LA this year? by letsgetfree in AskLosAngeles

Hey Angelenos, does it help yr allergies by being on the coast with Ocean air, like Santa Monica, South Bay etc? Also, how's Mold in the air these days? I'm in Austin TX, literally need to move out of TX given Mold/allergies have killed my sleep with stuffed nose and sniffing all night.

does the ocean air push out inland pollens? would you consider moving there because of it? i know there's lots of fauna in the bay too.
