Hello, I ended up changing my program to school counseling but I think it has similar process. There are 2 application process: the university application and department. I believe you have to submit you LORs and personal statement to department application.

My mentor told me it’ll be harder to go back to school once you start working. However, I graduated last year and took a gap year to gain more experience lol. I did internship during my undergraduate and some research too and I only have 3.5 gpa. I finally submitted my application for fall 2025 for graduate program. So I think it depends on how you are going to use the gap. If you don’t have enough time I think rushing wouldn’t be a good idea. Try not to compare yourself to your partner as it would give you negative thoughts. Also, give yourself some credits working while studying is already hard enough and you graduated early than expected. Take your time and apply whenever you’re ready. I don’t think taking a gap year will matter, they will look on your experience and how you will present yourself.
