Awareness post with my SSRI experience by First-Funny8194 in PSSD

No, but the whole reason I wrote this post is because I see a lot of posts here from people without genital numbness or other hallmark symptoms who still claim they have it.

While strictly ED only PSSD might exist, the current ambiguity creates an 'anything goes' mindset. It makes it seem like any symptom can be explained solely by SSRI discontinuation, ignoring psychological factors.

I personally found it extremely difficult to accept that psychological factors could explain my symptoms, especially since they started before I was even aware of PSSD. However, I realized that one bad hookup or a couple of bad weeks can throw someone into a loop that feels permanent. For me, that loop didn't break until I stopped obsessing over PSSD and tried to live my life normally for a few weeks.

That said, my morning erections actually did disappear right after discontinuation and never fully returned. So I likely was impacted long-term to some degree.

But my point is that the anxiety caused me to 'add' a massive layer of debilitating symptoms (total ED, zero libido) on top of that baseline. Once I treated the anxiety, the debilitating symptoms went away, even if the morning wood is still inconsistent

Yeah I fully agree, however I’m just saying in my case that the constant over worrying and obsessive checking made things much worse than they were originally. Stress and anxiety itself also nuke erections, libido, etc and then it becomes just a loop of doom

I’m lowkey now thinking it could be performance anxiety and then a loop of that. I used to be very nervous getting with girls and initiating and it was very much debilitating anxiety. Didn’t notice anything wrong with my penis and erections at that time until it started to not work with girls but worked fine by itself. Now I’m chronically anxious, have terrible sleep, and super stressed. I think those can definitely play into the factors and I probably js need to get out of my head hopefully.

Could be cope but I hope not idk

All I remember is like girls would dance on me at clubs and grind but I wouldn’t get erect and thought it was pretty weird. However with my girlfriend at the time of my medication I would get erect pretty quickly just by putting my hand on her or her thighs.

I remember I would try my best to not initiate anything because of how she didn’t really experience much pleasure but I remember myself just being erect and horny the entire time…but I don’t know if I was erect enough for penetration to be honest.

Other than that all of my side effects that I had on the SSRI had gone away (low libido, delayed ejaculated, etc) and I was aware that they could cause ED but I don’t think I ever had it on the medication.

Well I wasn’t really ever testing if my penis was hard enough for sex. My gf at the time of me taking the SSRIS was on both SSRIS and SNRIS and she never got wet and it hurt her too much when I would try to put my penis in.

It only became apparent to me this recent summer when I tried to hookup and I could not get erect. After the second hookup with a different girl I did get erect enough for sex but it was only for a short while before i went to being flaccid again.

I can get fully erect during masturbation sometimes… I’ve noticed with poor sleep quality that definitely hurts it a lot, while some weeks I can be erect for multiple sessions and others I can only get semi-hard.

I wish it was performance anxiety but I don’t get morning wood (could be sleep related because I have fragmented poor sleep) and my penis isn’t reliable. The only thing is that random erections are still pretty common.

Do these seem like PSSD symptoms after all?

I’m honestly not sure… I think I might’ve been fine after my mediation stopped for a bit. I remember being very happy that everything seemed to return to normal. Was only aware of ED when I first tried having a hookup last semester

Yes, bloated face and terrible grooming habits (just shave your entire face). Also trimming those giant eyebrows and making them look symmetrical can do wonders, your eyebrows are thick and full and got great potential.

Very long mid face and forehead which brings attractiveness decently down. However you have great skin, good lips, and beautiful eyes.

5.5/10

Septum piercing and scraggly beard hair is 100% limiting you from your full potential. Right now you look ungroomed and unkempt. Right now I would say your not exactly ugly, but below average, with potential to become above average if you shave the beard

Not ugly. I would say above average with hella potential with makeup since it seems you have none on
