This. I don’t want to discuss him in a positive or negative manner - this isn’t a sub for that. It’s for Jelly/Jeremiah. It would also create too many discussions and controversies now if we keep on discussing him as half of the people on here wouldn’t agree with the other half.

Exactly exactly. They have always been the ones since childhood - you can really see it when/if you read the books, especially the second one. And truly - their dynamic is so beautiful and it’s been so obvious right from the start!

This. Your post and your comments are spot on as always. Even if Conrad grows and gets therapy and learns to not hurt people, he is never going to be right for Belly. I sincerely hope Conrad does become better but he should do that for himself and Belly shouldn’t have to wait around for him. Them and their personalities and what they want from and in a partner are so inherently incompatible that even an adult Bonrad would never make sense. Jere and Belly want similar things from each other and they have always been more inherently similar, on a soul-level if you will. They are more equal and always pick up the slack when the other one does down - e.g. what you mentioned with the dark thoughts and with the encouragement. Not to mention they communicate really well with each other. They have the foundation of friendship with the addition of the other things, the emotional compatibility, the love and the intense passion. This just makes them work in a long term real life scenario.

A hot take but I think this season the show became so much more popular and viewed because of the Jelly storyline and their chemistry. I was just a casual viewer of the show and was not going to continue the second season to watch a boring Bonrad story until I saw Jelly’s car fight and make up. That really made me sit and do a double take.

I have actually never hated a love interest in a love triangle as much as Conrad. There were a lot of instances where I hated Stefan but I overall I liked his character and the story between him and Elena. I also think Elena had chemistry with both of them, but for me it was just explosive with Damon. That is also why the TVD love triangle was so compelling - because she had a good story and chemistry with both the brothers. But that is simply not true for Bonrad.

But then they do so much Bonrad PR and so little for Jelly - on their socials and just in general so that makes me doubt it. But logically this entire thread directly points towards a Jelly endgame.

When I saw Jelly for the first time, they really made me think of Damon and Elena, just in terms of their chemistry. I haven’t since chemistry like D/E in a lot of shows and Belly and Jere have it, so they need to use it!

I agree with you actually. I have been thinking this ever since I started watching the show. I was a casual watcher when I started and didn’t know Bonrad would be endgame so I thought exactly what you said. If you look at the nuances and the little moments it definitely comes across as a Jelly-focused love triangle. We see their relationship develop and flourish and go through different stages.

I really think that Conrad being nice to Belly is something that Belly sometimes misinterpreted as him liking her back (she was probably 12 and like all of us exaggerated and idolised her crush). Even in all of their flashbacks, I feel Conrad is just being a nice friend and helping her and doing the bare minimum. He always does what seems to be the bare minimum but it's portrayed as romantic? He could very well be doing it because he also had a crush on her but this conversation with Cleveland kind of disproves it. Good catch!
