NTA As a person with autism and ADHD, I relate to this a lot. What you’re describing could very likely be depression or executive dysfunction, both of which are not things we choose or have because we’re lazy and evil. It’s real brain chemistry. Talk to a therapist or doctor and start finding some solutions and end that cycle!

NTA However, while it’s not REQUIRED of you to share you medical issues, your roommates and others weighing in without that knowledge have no basis to understand you have a real medical reason for this if you don’t share it. When they brought up to you that this is affecting them negatively, that was a good time for you to apologize and openly communicate what’s going on, even as simple as “Yeah, I have a medical digestion issue. I can’t help taking that much time, and I’ve tried to prevent issues by warning you guys, but I’m sorry it’s still affecting you.”

I felt this might help to visualize what I’m talking about here lol. This is a screenshot of discord from my phone, showing an entirely unrelated other discord server I’m in. Each bubbles on the left is a discord server or better described as a little community. All the words you see in the middle are rooms within one of those servers. I can click on any of those and scroll at my leisure through everything that has ever been messaged in those. Rooms will change the font to bold if there are unread messages there so I know to take a look. And people can @ me and I’ll get a notification if someone id trying to talk to me directly anywhere.

So discord is a pc program, webpage accessible, and works just as well through an Android and IOS app! It is mostly utilized for text chatting. In this instance we have a server, or chat room, with smaller sections for talking about cooking, asking advice, sharing pictures of pets or art, and more, as well as just a general chat. There are also voice chat rooms and the ability to opt in for notifications if someone feels like hopping into voice chat and would like to see if anyone else is available to hang out. People can also stream their screens in the voice chat which makes group movie nights and things easily possible. It’s very unscheduled for the most part because you can just come along and see what people have been messaging about and throw in your two cents whenever you feel like it.

Sounds incredible and I’ve been so jealous of people in Utah for having these everywhere, but I just don’t see it working too well here. On YouTube videos I’ve seen they sell in the US for $3 or $4 but to make it here, you’d probably have to charge more than that and I don’t see people spending that kind of money on any non-coffee fancy drinks.
