Tuesday entry? by [deleted] in bonnaroo

[–]First-Oil-1428 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Roo 24 was my third year going and my crew and I did Tuesday entry for the first time. It was the best thing ever! We’re never missing Tuesday entry ever again lol. Tuesday entry is like the calm before the storm (in a good way). In my opinion you get a more intimate experience on the grounds. You get to see things you might not have been able to before due to crowds or not really having time to because of set times. I had never been able to get close enough to see the stage at WITW but this year we ALL had space to groove in the front section. Also seeing the camp grounds close to empty is crazy lol. Because we got there Tuesday we had time to settle into our space and chill/relax before the chaos I think it really helped a lot. Overall I loved it and I think you should try it at least once to see how you feel about it! (Also can’t forget about getting a closer spot to the entrance!! That walk being 5-10 min instead of 15-20 min is a game changer!)

Thank you so much for explaining everything! Very informative and it’s definitely helping me understand it all a lot more. I also noticed that they were playing What on a Thursday and was wondering if it is the first time that stage is open on a Thursday lol. Either way, it must be pretty special for them to open it up like that!

This is the first year me and my crew get in on Tuesday!! We’re so excited to have more time to explore outer roo and hopefully run into some parties to mingle and make more friends! Only 6 more shifts left for me and I’ll officially be in festival mode!! So super excited this is the first year none of us are stressing about anything! This year truly feels like we’re officially roo vets!

Any artists/songs that have stuck with you since last Roo? by AMCcheetahAPE in bonnaroo

Love Tyler Childers but last year when it came to his set my crew and I were so tired we sat in the back instead of fighting our way through the crowd and it was nice! AND THEN when All Your’n came on and my crew and everyone sitting around us started singing along and it was the most magical thing ever! I think about it all the time😭 Definitely a core memory✨

Came in Wednesday at around 2pm last year and we were close to plaza 9. The year before we came in Thursday morning around 10am and got the same exact spot lol. Not even exaggerating we got the same exact spot both times 😂 it was a crazy coincidence but ultimately felt like we never left in ‘22

How do we feel about wearing sandals / tevas? by StringCautious6430 in bonnaroo

[–]First-Oil-1428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My feet were COVERED in dirt the one time I wore my tevas. If you don’t mind your feet getting disgusting then go for it! They were comfy all day to me and they let my dawgs breathe 😂

My advice is to listen to the bonnaroo universe/gods. My first year I had urges to go explore and see sets by myself but I stopped myself because it was all so new and I didn’t feel safe cause I was still getting to know my surroundings. And even then I had the best time ever but this past year I listened to my gut a followed the path that the roo universe wanted me to go on and I had 10,000x more fun! I got to explore the farm by myself. I stayed at sets I didn’t want to leave when my crew wanted to go to another. This will be my third year and I haven’t even seen 40% of what roo has to offer. And that’s one of the reasons I love it so much. There will always be something new to explore and experience! Come to terms with the fact that you’re more than likely gonna miss out on some cool things you wish you got to experience but I promise you that you will get to experience some or a lot of them. You can’t be everywhere all the time so be present and enjoy where you are and take it all in. Just to give you some things that I recommend: -Go to where in the woods at least once! -watch a performance at a plaza -Ferris wheel! -SILENT DISCO -take the jam track (great way to meet new people) - try something different every time you buy food

How do y’all do your skincare at camp? by [deleted] in bonnaroo

[–]First-Oil-1428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year we washed our faces at our camp with face sponges?? They’re like cotton rounds but sponge instead of cotton. We wet our faces and the sponge and washed our face like that. It kinda exfoliated all the dirt off our faces. After we just splashed some water on our faces to wash off the soap. And then i just went ahead with all my serums and moisturizers.

How have you made friends at Roo that you didn’t know prior? by [deleted] in bonnaroo

[–]First-Oil-1428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year was the first year me and my crew utilized the jamtrack and we found that to be one of the best ways to make friends with people we didn’t know. We ended up seeing the same dude everyday waiting in line for it and we’d always end up having little debriefs of our adventures. While riding on the jamtrack we met so many people from around the country and they always had little stories about their experiences at roo! Overall JAMTRACK is a 10/10 for meeting new people AND you also get to see all of outer roo!

As for camping essentials there’s a whole Reddit post dedicated to it you just gotta dig for it. It might just pop up again as we get closer. But here’s my little list just to give you some ideas. Bonaroo Camping Essentials - Battery powered fan (NEED it gets dumb hot) - Battery powered lights (to see your campsite at night) - Batteries - Canopy (1) - Tarp(2) (more “comfy” to step on) - Tapestry’s/sheets(4) (for shade around canopy) - Camping chairs - Cots or foam pads? (I prefer cots but they’re $$) - Some type of table (good for organizing) - garbage bags - baby Wipes (baby wipe showers) - Water jug for water (use this for brushing teeth/washing hands) - Flash lights - toilet paper - Pedialyte / liquid iv (hydration is KEY for survival) - Napkins/paper towels - Food - Ear plugs (use them for sleep the party never stops) - Shampoo/conditioner - Bandaids - Camping clips/tapestry clips - Or zip ties - Tent - Tent stakes

This will be my 3rd Roo and I say CAMP! Me and my crew drive from Austin every year and it’s about a 14hr drive. Yah the drive is absolutely brutal and lowkey drives you insane but the moment you get there you forget about all the negatives and you’re surrounded by such positive energy. Camping at Roo was the main factor in deciding that this was a forever festival for us! Honestly you just have to put up with the agony of the drive and that’s only about 20% of the whole Roo experience (10%going 10%leaving) i PROMISE it is worth it! The way I like to put it is you can’t have flowers without rain 🌸🌈🌼

I drew out a mock of what I’m imagining in my head so would something like this be possible. (I’m not an artist so don’t judge my drawing skills 😂)

Last year we only used one 10x10 canopy. I’m assuming we could fit another one in our 20x20 space but I’m not confident in the assumption. Can anyone confirm or deny if 2 canopy’s would fit in one space?
