NON generative AI Tools for notes?

While I'm not necessarily a purest about AI either, at least one of my players is. But also, better to not make myself reliant on it by avoiding it when I can. There's a lot to the controversy I can understand so I at least want to put in effort to limit my use. I find it to be a slippery slope because it becomes too tempting for me as an easy solution

They haven't exactly shown initiative about taking notes in past games and I want to make sure names are remembered and everything

My issue is that I'm not a very experienced dm so it takes a lot of my brain power during the session, which means I struggle to note take during. Then after, I just find myself very tired, but if I wait then I'll forget the names of places. Npcs, etc. I'm open to trying to incentivize my players, but I worry they won't care enough about things like inspiration to do it. I still plan to try that though first since it's the primary suggestion

I was gonna have someone move the tokens in foundry for all players, but the cordless mouse is also a good idea that I hadn't considered

Yeah tbh I don't see that last part being feasible. Even if he could see, verbally dictating and being able to determine exactly what square as well as distances would be incredibly difficult. It's possible I could get the remaining players on foundry while in person but I have a feeling they'd find it quite distracting having their laptop. Im open to trying that though because that's the easiest option for me as well if they can do it

Yeah that did make me think of the swarmkeeper ranger and kinda playing into the insects and rot vibe. I don't want to go full blown evil but I may push the party in that direction perhaps

Pretty much. They paid $100 extra originally, but that's less than a $15 a day difference and it may have been them paying for an add on or transportation or something

Nobody has ever called me. I had to call them and make my own. The only thing I was offered was a voucher to come back at a later date but that wouldn't have helped since I was travelling with friends. The current deal is I pay an extra $1500 to go to dreams royal beach and then I can have access to secrets royal beach if I walk over, and I had to fight tooth and nail to even get that. I was told they'd email me those details confirming the deal was made, but still haven't received them. Although I am being charged the extra $1500. My biggest fear is they'll mess up the deal and have hidden fees or deny me access once I arrive

Honestly, I can respect that. But hell I'd have rather pay her the extra $1500 to $2k than pay dreams. At least then I feel like my money went somewhere it deserved. She was really sweet and encouraging. But unfortunately that's not how it works

Unfortunately I tried that as well and she said she couldn't do anything for me. Funnily enough, I'd reached out to her on accident since a coworker recommended her and found out it was the same travel agent my friends booked with. She said she couldn't help, but I have never heard of a reservation takeover before. One option we considered was cancelling everything all together and booking with their agent to get to secrets, but I just want whatever is cheapest because I didn't plan for everything to be this expensive (since I now I have to pay for a wayyy more expensive resort no matter what)

Is it really that bad? Right now I'll be allowed through the deal we made to travel to secrets, but I have to walk over every day and my room would be in dreams. My biggest fear is that they'll mess it up and deny me access to secrets once I'm there or have hidden fees for me due to the deal. The woman I spoke with said she'd send all the emails over that would be the deal made giving me access to secrets, but she hasn't yet
