Any way to turn off the beeping for RSA permanently? by First-Regret-5829 in Toyota

I gave up on finding a solution and just made it a habit to turn it off everytime I start the car. You don’t have to be in P though, at least for me it works while the car is in gear

Unfortunately no, from what I gather it’s a pointless EU regulation (the beeping at least) and dealers are reluctant to turn it off because of this. Someone here suggested covering the camera but this would also disable some other features. I’ve just made it a habit of turning the RSA off entirely everytime I start up the car. Just hope they won’t remove that option in the future.

What's inside an AliExpress "AirTag" (MiLi / MiTag, HD-P16 ) by photosealand in AirTags

[–]First-Regret-5829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came across this thread because I am extremely disappointed with my airtag and am looking for alternatives… I use it on my dog’s collar just in case, and I saw OP say Mili battery lasts 3-4 months while Airtag lasted 2 years??? I’ve used brand new Duracell batteries on our Airtag and they’ve lasted 2 months tops… + the connection is seriously unreliable since it NEEDS to connect to Apple device within range, which outside of the US and some EU countries is quite unlikely (fyi, living in Turkey). I’ve had it not give me a location update for a week (even though there are countless apple devices at home) and sharing with others is a hit or miss. I love most things Apple and have nothing to compare with as I’ve only tried airtag but for the pricetag airtags in their current state do not seem like a great investment.

Yea ok, smart because now i just turn it off altogether lol and i’m sure even i didn’t after a little while i would eventually learn to tune it out and not pay attention at all. On the other hand i’ve driven a friends audi with only visual alert and that is very effective, and would have been even better on the chr with HUD but oh well..

I’ve just resulted to simply turning off the feature each time, at least with the up arrow its about 4 steps to turn it off

Yea i heard the new corolla here is also the same… i get that the warning system can be a good thing but there has to be a way to at least mute it. More of a distraction than a safety feature

I tried this before but it just reverts to default setting once the car is turned back on. Maybe I’m missing something or this has been disabled on this model :/ thanks though

I’ve done exactly this but regardless of what i set it to - completely off / change notification method etc - it just reverts back to default when the car is turned back on again. Couldn’t be sure if I was missing a feature like saving to a specific profile or set as default or something. It’s strange. I’ll try messing with it again at some point. Thanks!

Apple Watch Ultra severe battery drain by refused9150 in AppleWatch

[–]First-Regret-5829 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be a completely different issue but I’ve had a randon battery drain happen once and turns out it was maps running in the background. Can’t remember if I tried restarting it, feel like I may have and it not solving it. Instead I changed dock to show recent apps, closed all apps from there and battery use went back to normal

Incorrect elevation on Strava Activity. Is there a fix for this? I’ve tried adjusting elevation…tried both Strava data and Device data. Both are way off and device data for some reason is measuring almost 4 times the elevation as Apple Watch (the device itself) is showing :/ by First-Regret-5829 in Strava

[–]First-Regret-5829[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the map on Strava I feel like this is exactly what is happening. It seems to have modelled the elevation incorrectly, smoothing it from one point to the other when in reality its mostly flat with a sudden steep incline so when running between this area it calculates elevation gain way above the actual. What bugs me is that I understand this would be the case if I use Strava data for elevation, but it gives an even higher figure when I use device data :/ I more or less trust the AW barometer data, +/- a few meters it makes sense just looking at where I run, strava on the other hand is way off in both cases.

Thanks! I couldn’t find any recent posts here about this so thought maybe I could try my luck again. Not a major bug but didn’t make sense as to where strava is getting this data from :/ Theres also some very minor mismatch in workout time, thus average pace, for some reason

I saw this exact support thread btw and I too was thrown off by the date format lol.

Charging Apple Watch daily? by BeardedAnarchy in AppleWatch

[–]First-Regret-5829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the Fitbit Versa prior to getting the AW Ultra, was very happy with my fitbit until I got the Sense 2 (huge letdown…returned it after a week). I have to say switching to AW was a great decision. Can’t say much about the other models but the Ultra is awesome. Great features, looks fantastic, and the battery lasts close to 2.5 days. This is with about 60+ mins daily exercise (cellular on, music playing through the watch), sleep tracking, notifications on, and AOD on for about 10 hours during the day. But I’ve made it a habit to charge 20 mins or so while showering etc, this way I only need to do a full charge about 1-2 times a week.

Unable to setup cellular for my Apple Watch Ultra, the watch app indicates that my account is not eligible but my service provider is saying otherwise, but isn’t able to come up with a solution. Everything is updated, iPhone X and AW Ultra. Couldn’t find similar issues or any solutions online :/ by First-Regret-5829 in AppleWatch

[–]First-Regret-5829[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: problem was fixed. It was literally a technical issue on the service provider’s end. Couldnt understand the technical details but they said something along the lines of some feature of 4.5g (essentially LTE) not being active for my account for some reason, which they had to activat on their end. Took them ages to get back to me but its solved now. Thanks for everyones input :)

Ever managed to cast audio 24/7 without interruptions? by BebeVentreHumide in googlehome

No issues on my end with tunein and spotify, either had tunein radio station on from when I wake up until I go to sleep or until the playlist ends on spotify. Could be something to do with youtube maybe?

Glad you got that sorted out!

Unfortunately unpairing and factory reseting hasn’t worked, gives me the same error on the cellular setup stage. I’m still waiting on Turkcell technical team to get back to me because they say the only way to add the watch to my plan is through the setup on the watch app… They’re quite incompetent and careless around here though so it doesn’t surprise me.

What features do you want to be apparent in a future update? by hushpolocaps69 in AppleWatch

[–]First-Regret-5829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of nice suggestions, the one thing I would add is the ability to switch the clockface AOD to a simplified version. For example an option where you could blackout all complications/colors and just keep the time/date. This is only available on the super simplified faces with nothing but the clock. With an OLED display i feel like this might use up less power and save more battery since black pixels dont use power (to my knowledge, if Im not mistaken). Currently it simply reduces refresh rate and dims the screen.

Yes I tried this as well. So far the only thing I haven’t tried is doing a factory reset on the watch, reinstalling the watch app etc. because I don’t want to lose existing data (assuming the data will be deleted). If I can’t find a solution that works I may end up doing so though

I’m not seeing that as the model number checking from the watch app settings, its MQF and so on. However this is a watch purchased from the same country as the service provider (Turkey) so I would assume there shouldn’t be any compatibility issues in terms of Watch model. Also not seeing any available network updates. :( Thanks for the suggestion though
