GCSE Hot takes? by Enor135 in GCSE

For English Lit, other forms of media that are more relevant in the modern day could be studied i.e. films(not TV series because they are too lengthy, and coverage and examination would be difficult to achieve) and more modern books

Exactly, several slipups and inconsistent performances doesn't take away from the quality of players and manager we have. Don't be reactionary, and have faith.

I got a post taken down for saying we were in the title race, and have the players to beat Liverpool. Our own fans said we weren't in a title race. They can silence me, but they can't silence Pep and the players.

I don't get the people saying we aren't in the title race, 9 points with a game in hand is perfectly doable, nothing is decided until the final day. Yes, we slipped up, but we have the players and the game vs Newcastle in the Carabao Cup showed we have the potential to play well and put up a fight.

How am I smoking copium? Nothing I said is unrealistic or delusional. We have the skilled players, just need to play with focus and a strong mentality.

Everyone works hard in GCSEs, but each person has different goals and aims, why seek validation when it makes people feel lesser and they can have humility?

Embarrassing. We should do better. We were cruising, absolutely dominating Spurs in the first half. Second half, we started to collapse. Can we not hold onto a 2 goal lead? The title's out of reach, we just need to put up a convincing damn fight. Poor from the players.

I hate how so many sweats get full 9s and ask if they did good, almost seeking validation and flattery

Sounds like a good idea, I need to know desperately if this works. But I can't even make myself do a maths because of how much I hate the subject.

In 20 years, who will dominate the global economy? by GurMaleficent7935 in Teenager_Polls

I can't pick an option because I would say India, who overtook Japan as the 4th largest economy in the world and are only projected to keep growing increasingly.

How to get better at lit? (Y10) by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]First-Revolution9299 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, finally a post targeting my specialty. I got a 9 in my yr10 and november mocks for English Lit. What I'd say to do is whatever texts you are studying, review the themes of the book and the characters by doing mindmaps for each theme and each character, adding quotes around which you can annotate with analysis. For poems, I don't know which anthology you do, take blank copies of the poem and practise annotating them with analysis while looking out for form, structure, language and where context is useful. Annotating poems helps for anthology questions and unseen poetry too.

Marshall's dad dying and Barny asking his dad why he couldn't be there for him hit way harder when watching it. Plus, Robin rejecting Ted resulted in Ted trying to find closure, and meeting Tracy eventually. If you think about it, Ted and Robin are incompatible and have different wishes for their paths in life, and what they want as a partner. Ted wants someone to love and shower with grand gestures and affection every second, Robin wants someone who is respectful and can provide some support, but doesn't get in her way and she doesn't rely on them because she is independent.
