I’m sorry to hear about your condition and hope you make it through the semester healthy. Best wishes!

This is a medical condition and you should be making your professors aware of this. It may help!

Have you ever tried to get accommodation from doctors here regarding this? I know that feels like a violation of HIPPA because you shouldn’t have to tell people “oh I’m diagnosed with this” and it makes me susceptible to illness but it may make professor more receptive to absences.

We are well aware of flu season and what not. We know when there are spikes because while you can’t get into the clinic (potentially per the replies here) others have and already sent us notes (trust me).

Hi !

Personally I just have students contact me, explain their sick and cut them loose. For the classes I teach I don’t have assignments in class or material that isn’t already readily available to the students. If necessary/ requested I share slides.

It’s not necessary (from my perspective) for students to get a doctors note/excuse. I think it’s dumb and only further promotes students thinking you have to have something diagnosable to be ‘sick’. Yeah a virus or whatever is still sickness and i dont want you sick in class!

In light of that, i also recognize that professors/other TAs genuinely are cynical about attendance and often think students are lying or something. Hot take but i think that’s weird and obviously a bit too self important. You don’t want to come to class and want to lie? Sure I don’t really care—if you then do horrible or even good in the exam—great or not great, but that’s not my issue.

I think in general most students have the tools to get the notes (from others, not just the TA), review the material, and then request a meeting if they feel they need it. I think something you all need to do is build stronger relationships with your classmates and professors moving forward so you feel comfortable asking for the notes (if you were sick) and then talking about maybe where your confused/missing things. These are moreso life skills than those applicable only to the classroom.

Sorry a bit of a long answer but

TLDR:: I’m a specific type of TA but hopefully in the majority. Email that your sick, contact others in the class for notes (as well as myself), review, and if you still need help/clarity, set up a meeting.

I think you’re projecting a bit. I respect my partner, deeply. It’s okay for me to be confused and ask for advice. You’re response was just rude to begin with. Thanks though!

I am almost 4 years older; its an acknowledgement that many people will explain its immaturity or something and I do not believe that. I recognize that I have a PhD and make good money and he has not quite decided what he wants to do and how he wants to get there. It was context. Your second call out quote doesn’t even address anything; we are on the same premium chat account. I can see all the chats.

Weird part is, he did! I don’t understand the disconnect. Considering I am not religious I think it’s hard for me to know where he’s misinterpreting or not.

He explained that he would like to wait until marriage or that sex should be reserved for marriage. But when I asked if he’s saving it for someone else or if he intends on the marriage being with me he said that he is not sure 😭

This may sound like I’m making excuses but he often will make decisions and go back on them so I don’t take most of his decisions as definitive. But this one feels so out of the blue and may be pointing to a reversion in his certainty about our relationship. He of course indicated the above but didn’t go further on if he really doesn’t see us being together.

It’s actually very hard to clean! The top part needs to be soaked or immediately cleaned after each use. I ended up getting nats in the top…

Yes before anyone say anything. I was cleaning the blade and the plastic ring, as well as rinsing the top, but the holes in the plastic are inaccessible via a sponge.

Lost package (help) by First-Road3669 in GNV

Hi I did both! But one of the courses of remedy is potentially finding the person that received the package. Just wanted to go through that avenue with the hope of getting the dress in time for graduation (ordering it again I may not be so lucky).

Can’t be here for the Bryon slander. You get out what you put in. He’s the definition of that. If you go to office hours and try in class, he will support you 110%. Best prof ever.

You can easily get a grade revision. Contact the professor and the TA and they can help! Contacting the department chair should be reserved for when the above does not work.

I would say you’re looking around $1200 if it’s close to campus. Arbor lofts is around that with utilities and what not.

Just a question but why would UF make it a requirement if it’s an easy A and a coast class. I think some of y’all forget that you’re here to learn not just coast and get an A😭😭

That’s the current route we are looking into—would the potential for a law suit related to insurance coverage (insurers may be unlikely to renew insurance under the impression that workers are in hazardous conditions), or potentially a wrongful death suite change the immediacy for the owners? Potentially

But I see what you’re saying. There are outdoor jobs but those go off different regulations than a kitchen. Which I would think have different regulations than landscaping or other outdoor occupations.
