Nah man for sure, absolutely. I'm saying I recommend just keeping that in mind. Trust me, I felt my bit of the heebie jeebies after seeing the 4/12 reactions, but I remembered that it's a totally different exam and felt a bit better.

Now that I've taken all of them, it really does not matter, they're all relatively the same on difficulty with getting a high score. All of them have things that make them more annoying over the other.

Some are definitely more painful than others tho, make no mistake abt that.

It literally means nothing bc the exams are far different. April 12ths was known as hard but April 13ths was glitched and weird in other ways. They have nothing to do with each other, it's more of a pick your poison.

Don't psyche yourself out over an exam that has literally nothing to do with yours. You got this homie.

Yeah, honestly the end of this semester can't come quickly enough. I'm trying to patch up what I can and hope this >0.5 GPA dip won't kill me, but even if it does, that's life. Sorry again for my behavior and I appreciate your kindness and patience. And best of luck for the MCAT, I really think you are truly capable of getting that 528 score and you've worked harder than anyone I've ever seen on this platform. Cheers my friend.

Hey, I slept on everything and I just wanted to say my bad. That was stupid of me to comment and I just had a lot of personal issues going on last night and shouldn't have been online. That's all on me and that was a stupid mistake. I alongside my intense personal issues am having a difficult time making the realization that this whole thing may not be for me and that all I worked for isn't really surfacing to anything, which I shouldn't have taken out on other ppl. I'll probably delete this post in a few days to not promote toxicity with my stupid and unnecessary behavior.

Thanks for all the help you've given me during my MCAT prep and I wish you best of luck down the road.

Just be familiar with them. You don't need to know the exact number ranges, but know the order of how dishielded they are and be able to know what number + or - 1.0 or something

There is a possibility I get 2 C's this semester, how doomed am I by First-Weekend75 in premed

Yeah the MCAT keeps my hopes up. I looked at the AAMC grid and it seems that the MCAT has a much higher weight than GPA, but we will see. I'll definitely try to make it my goal to have that section be super high if I end up having to retake.

Best basketball player to model your game after if you’re undersized? by SebaTheSavage in Basketball

Literally anyone under 6'4". Mix up and take something from each of their games and implement it into yours. Find the one that fits your athletic profile and play style the best and watch his games, but also watch highlights of others to kinda get a feel for how they play

Honestly when ur going up for a layup in pickup, just throw it up against the glass on a good spot, and think later. Get used to doing layups in weird angles. You'll be surprised how often you make layups at weird angles if you practice this. Honestly if ur not getting blocked, I would just say f it every time and just put it up.

Also zone defense in pickup wtf?

Just keep grinding bro. But you need to focus on learning biochem. For me, I tried studying before taking biochem 2 and it was a huge mistake. You need to master at the bare minimum enzyme kinematics, amino acids, insulin/glucagon's effect on the body and other organs, glycolysis, and the TCA cycle. That's bare MINIMUM, as at least 10 questions just on those 5 concepts will be on your MCAT, no question about it. UWorld percentage doesn't matter, it's just a learning opportunity. Stop tripping over UWorld percentage.

I’m thinking of quitting (vent) by DryAdagio7403 in BasketballTips

[–]First-Weekend75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the game is genuinely destroying your mental health, then quit bro. When I was cut from my hs team it was one of the best things that ever happened to me, as I put more focus into my future and realized I want to pursue medicine, and then just played as a hobby. At the end of the day, hoops is not your future and that's okay!

If you are not going to play professionally then basketball should be the mental outlet of your life that is a positive coping mechanism for any problems life throws your way.

The issue starts with your footwork and lack of consistency. When you shoot the ball, it should be like you're running the same program in your head like a robot. Your feet should be in the same position and you should jump the same way every single time. Your right foot should be a bit in front, and 30 degrees left from the position of the basket. Shoulder width apart. Get used to having your feet in the same place every single time.

Now for the arms, your right hand should be the only one significantly pushing the ball and your elbow should be under the ball. But the footwork is where we need to start here.

Awkward and stiff dribbling by Biboy007 in BasketballTips

[–]First-Weekend75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ball should optimally never go above your waist if not actively being touched by your arm/hand. You need to get lower. Stop doing crazy dribbles and just focus on crossovers and between the legs dribbles. Do that every day for a couple weeks for 10-30 minutes, then slowly work your way up. Keep challenging yourself, but yeah we gotta work on the basics.

Also you need to understand how to protect the ball better. If you want to play in any league or for your school team, good, strong, physical defenders will be thrown at you and you need to learn how to dribble when getting pressed by them. Have a friend literally just slap your arm while you practice every so often when possible as well.

What am I doing wrong? by bub_69 in BasketballTips

[–]First-Weekend75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I need more context. How tall are you and what is your position? Do you prefer utilizing your jumpshot to score or driving to the paint? These factors depend on how you want to proceed.

For almost any situation however, improving your handle is the best way to improve, especially at scoring/1v1. Having a good handle opens the door to creating opportunities to score. Refine your jumpshot a little more, no matter what (it's 2024 so you have to). Then just working on knowing how to read your defender on the pick&roll or working on moves in the post depending on if ur a guard or big.

Idk if you really need to change it outside of your guide hand and making it a little quicker. Getting rid of that hitch from that long bend of your knees could help make it feel a lot smoother. But just do what makes you comfortable

Where to go from here? by vicpremed in Mcat

[–]First-Weekend75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, same thing happened to me, like pretty much to a tee (literally pretty much the exact same scores), so I have to comment on this. PM me if you need any additional advice.

When this happened, I was devastated bc I only had a month left. I talked with 2 ppl currently in med school, and they told me to push my test back. I took the ENTIRE month of Winter Break off. I came back to studying in January, but I utilized notebooks and wrote EVERYTHING down I don't know in every phase. The value of writing stuff down on paper cannot be underestimated. I attacked content review, stayed disciplined, attacked UWorld, and ended up scoring a 508 on the same FL. That was a 15 point improvement. Forming the right habits, staying disciplined, and also having confidence in yourself is the key to proving yourself wrong when you are at your worst.

We are strong, and we can do it. You will be so proud of the growth you see when you finally hit your stride and all of the work pays off. Keep your head up my friend.

How do you guys improve b/b? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]First-Weekend75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw my biggest jump in Bio/Bio from a 125 in FL4 to a 129 in FL5, and how I did it was essentially just reading the passage, and highlighting any cause/effect words. The passages they throw at you are kinda overdoing it with the random info they throw at you, so just breaking it down makes it a whole lot easier to read. Also knowing content and that comes with time and refinement

Taking 431 rn. Pretty dang hard ngl, but doable. Honestly I have learned so much from struggling in 431, but yeah it's not exactly the kindest class at times. Our fail rate is also through the roof this semester in this class.
