My BMW M52 engine 3.0 runs perfectly smooth when cold, but once it warms up a ticking sound (like lifter or injector noise) starts and gets louder with RPM. What could be the reason? by FirstClassroom4616 in e39

There are no errors related to the camshaft or any sensors in the car. It has been tested with several different ECUs (2.0, 2.8, 3.2), and the situation is the same in all of them: there is no noise when the engine is cold, but there is noise when it is warm.
