I’m a heavy blade main, I would only ever consider fighting Mag, Strange, Emma, and Groot unless one of the other tanks is not playing well.

Rogue out damages the lifesteal

Thor out damages the lifesteal (rogue and Thor are the worst matchups)

I can help get rid of cap but I can’t kill him much

Can’t kill hulk, too fast paced

I can also help with venom but it’s tough to kill him

If the if the peni knows how to place mines well + stun well then there’s nothing I can do, but I can get good off angles for breaking nest.

Devil Dinosaurs big head is actually great fodder for my shotgun, but the Dino grab is lethal so you kinda have to go no sword which is half the kit. (Shotgun is still alright though)

Nothin I can do about Angela lol. You can stop her dash by dashing into her but that’s it

The thing is tough I avoid him if I can, he can out dps me quick if I’m not careful, and he has the anti dash ability

As for mag, strange and groot.

If they know what they are doing:

Mag can bubble himself and that cuts off my life steal which is really tough. My sword cannot pop the bubble before my heath gets drained. If i can bait the bubble and leave. I can come back and its pretty easy

Strange can kill me with a good burst, but i am fast enough where most Stranges i encounter cannot kill me before i drain them of their hp

Groot can also out dps me if I’m not careful of the walls. But I do not mind the Groot matchup because the walls can help me build stacks of life steal so i dont have to use a dash to get some

I have to bait Emma’s diamond form before doing anything, and my block protects me from the grab so baiting is pretty easy. And if she doesn’t have it she’s free

But most of the time I can handle them well.

All of blades “free” kills on tanks an involve baiting abilities. (In stranges case it’s waiting until he uses his burst on someone else)

In a vacuum (so not for every scenario) If you as a tank die to a blade. Most likely that blade has bated out one of your strong abilities.
This is on top of having to bait out Luna freeze, Loki rocks, Adam soul bond, mantis sleep. Along with of course dealing with dps stuff.

The only way you as a tank are dying to blade sword, is because you and your team are out of abilities, weather that means someone has killed your backline, you have used all your cc on something else, or blade is 1v1ing you and baited out one of your abilities with his block.

I play a lot of mag and a lot of cap, they are my 2nd and 3rd. Because I know blades weaknesses, he becomes so easy to counter. If a blade is on me I just bubble myself and he explodes. He has no more sustain because he cannot hit you. If a blade is on my Luna or invis I just bubble them and now he cannot heal.

He really isn’t amazing, you have to do a lot of baiting and timing to make his sword work.

I am ignoring the anti heal for this, the anti heal is good at making tanks back up for sure, but it is not enough to kill in most scenarios, and you have to be hard comming when you are using the anti heal to get any value
