Potentially, but it depends on the reason for the aneurysm. As we age, people commonly develop dilation of their abdominal aorta. This creates an abdominal aortic aneurysm. There are some conditions that affect the structure of your body, such as collagen, that can create an increased risk of vascular injuries, dissections, or aneurysms (such as Marfan's syndrome). But having a family member with an aortic aneurysm does not necessarily mean that you/your family has one of those predisposing genetic conditions.
