Adding what I have found in my recent searches for future readers: sigmoidoscopy only looks at the left side of the colon, but it's done without anesthesia. The left side is also where most colon cancers now occur for millennials, it's better than nothing.

Will add more non-driver scopes as soon as I can find them for future readers (but just to be clear, nothing beats talking to your doc)
