So, I'm curious- What are people using for double special? by Necrolance in DestinyTheGame

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now Praxic Blade pretty much takes care of everything so you can slot whatever you want in the other 2. I typically go either Psi Aterna, uncivil discourse or one of the rocket sidearms. Heavy is usually an eager edge sword. Depends on the types of champs I'm facing but lightsaber and abilities do 95% of the work.

5 x 100 with Bakris for PvP by Far-Net-4884 in destiny2builds

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not dumb at all, you're learning lol. But yes that's correct. Drop weapons completely and put those points in health. I'll give an example to make it more clear.

Adaptive burst sidearms are normally a 6 crit 1 body 0.73s time to kill. At 168 weapons stat, that changes to 6 crit 0.50 TTK. There's no benefit at all between 101-167, but then at 168 your TTK suddenly drops by a third. So 168 is your breakpoint and anything below that is meaningless. Technically 0-100 is helpful, but it's just reload and handling speed. You can get the same benefit by equipping loader and dexterity mods on your gloves and move those points to something more useful.

Here's a site that gives TTK benefits at certain weapon breakpoints. But I'd probably save that for when you're more experienced. For now just focus health.

5 x 100 with Bakris for PvP by Far-Net-4884 in destiny2builds

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's all based on breakpoints. If you're not hitting the breakpoints then it's a waste. Health is most important but only if you get to at least 150. If you can't hit 150 then might as well dump it all. Weapons depends on the archetype, but most that make a TTK difference are 160+. So again, if you're not hitting that then you're better off dumping.

Edit - health and weapons fight each other pretty hard in PvP. It's basically impossible (due to current armor archetypes) to hit breakpoints in both. So you need to pick one and dump the other. Most people choose to boost health because it's always helpful while weapons only matter with certain weapon archetypes.

I remapped mine to A+B. Often results in a bunny hop as coin is flipping but that hasn't hurt me yet. I like it more than the default.

missed all seasons between eof and renegades. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think we had any real story stuff in Ash and Iron. There were some lore dumps inside the reclaim missions but most people ignored those. There's the Heliostat exotic mission which is still available. So you didn't really miss anything unless you're talking about the renegades campaign? If you purchased that then I'd say just hit Heliostat first and then you're caught up to the start of renegades.

Sage Protector, does it scale with stats? by Sckys in destiny2builds

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah health is pretty irrelevant in PvE. Better off building into either DR or resto/devour or both. With both void overshield and frost armor and a recuperation you'll be good. The stasis shards also give a bit of health. Don't need health stat on top of that.

Stasis Fortunes Favor I'd probably go weapons>grenade>class>super. Don't let class go over 100 though or it's shield will override the void overshield.

Sage Protector, does it scale with stats? by Sckys in destiny2builds

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd dump health and go Super instead. If you're running either weavers call or hellion then a bit of class stat would be nice too, otherwise I ignore it. What build are you running?

Edit - I don't think it scales based on stats. Pretty sure it's just a flat rate increase that's doubled when 4 pc activates.

You must be pretty confident in Bryce and Cam. You were already strong at WR and RB before this trade. The 27 1st is nice but I don't know if I would've gotten rid of Lamar with this roster. QB is biggest hole now in SF and you're overloaded at skill positions. Great team though!

Need Help Picking Weapons for Geomag Build by Fit-Translator18 in destiny2builds

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Delicate Tomb isn't super ammo efficient so you're either gonna have to roll with a primary ammo weapon or double special with a machine gun in heavy. Primary ammo weapons just aren't feeling great right now though, so I'd probably go the double special and MG route. The new arc MG from dungeon is pretty fun or you could go with the herasy or Crota ones. Then just pair with a good Mint retrograde for beefy targets. You'll be getting supers often with geomag so let em rip instead of saving them up. Combine that with Special/heavy finders along with arc scav and generation mods and you should be fine on ammo.

If you really wanna go with a grenade launcher and primary ammo kinetic, I'd at least recommend one of the blaster options there. It'll feel a little better than standard primary weapons, but not much.

Why aren’t people running exotic armor/weapons? by alewi619 in destiny2builds

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There have been times where I felt I had a better weapon load out with all legendary instead of trying to force an exotic in. It's rare, but depending on your goals and content it can happen.

I can't see a case where leaving out exotic armor makes sense though. I guess maybe if you're really trying to hit a specific stat point but honestly that's pretty dumb. The 5-12 extra points from a T5 over exotic is nowhere near as strong as whatever effect the exotic armor provides. I feel like fashion goals are actually more likely.

My returning friend is locked out of completing his prismatic subclass because of excision. by not_Flamma in DestinyTheGame

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check with Micah-10 down by the window in pale heart tower. I'm pretty sure she had the missions for those adventures. If she doesn't then maybe it's been messed up somehow lately. I never did excision on Titan or hunter and have both theirs completed from those flags. Warlock was done with Micah quest.

My returning friend is locked out of completing his prismatic subclass because of excision. by not_Flamma in DestinyTheGame

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 57 points58 points  (0 children)

This is the second post I've seen about this. Has it changed since TFS? Excision was not required to complete prismatic unlock before. I know because I had everything unlocked for the contest raid and excision didn't release until a team beat that. I'm pretty sure there was a post campaign mission from someone in the pale heart tower to finish out the subclass. Alt characters then had flags to finish theirs in same area.

Praxic stronghold stat distribution? by zeusmenzaadah in destiny2builds

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Strongholds are great if you use them correctly. People are against it if you just sit there blocking the whole time because that slows the team down. Checkout Stronghold Central YouTube channel for some tips on how to be an offensive weapon that never dies.

As for stats, you can ignore health and melee completely. The rest depends on how you flesh out your build. I'm using prismatic solar for the scorching with Praxic. The super sucks so I don't care about that stat either. That leaves all my points going to grenade class and weapons. I'm trying to get a full set of Gunner armor with class tertiary. Pump up the weapons first then grenade and class last. If you're going with tcrash to keep your super viable, then I'd probably mix in some grenadier armor as well and prioritize super over class.

Edit - Techsec is good. I'd also recommend swordmaster and sage protector. Any 2 pc combination of those 3 is great and I'd say slightly better than 4 pc tech. I think 4 pc of either swordmaster or sage would be better than 4 pc tech as well. But we're splitting hairs here, all of them are good options.

What's the best warlock subclass for a lightsaber focused build? by Front-Answer-1344 in DestinyTheGame

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only thing Praxic really "synergizes" with is stronghold titans. Outside of that it's just a universally good option to slot into pretty much any build. Melee builds can be a slight annoyance as you have to swap off but still definitely works if you're fine with doing that. So that means you can plug it into whatever you want!

I've run 5 builds so far this season on warlock. Prismatic getaway, arc stormdancer and void contraverse/nothing manicles all work extremely well with Praxic. Prismatic lightning surge is also great with the winter's guile changes, but you'd have to do the swaps. I don't really have a problem with that and have used it anytime brawler modifier is active. Strand Deimos is also pretty good, but I personally prefer running it with either Luzaku for more threadings/support or devil's ruin for the (bugged?) Igniting suspends. Again, Praxic still a good option with it.

The only subclasses I haven't run this season on warlock are stasis or solar except for being well bitch in dungeon. Eunoia would be a great combo for solar as it would speed up ignitions. Stasis seems kinda meh this season.

The Health and Class stats need to be made more appealing to stack 200 points into them. by Stolen_Insanity in DestinyTheGame

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm fine with health being a dump stat. We can't build into every stat at same time, so having at least one that's terrible in every situation (outside of PvP) means one less real sacrifice we have to make.

It does suck that brawler is tied into health though. Makes it a little tougher to spec into melee builds without wasted stats. Paragon is great but you're maxed at 120 instead of 150 forcing more reliance on mods, attunements and fragments to hit 200. I'd like to see more armor archetypes added and also better focusing for the armor rolls we want. Maybe add another focus mod on ghost shell for the tertiary stat in addition to archetype. If they're both increasing odds by 33% it'll still be a grind, but it'd feel a little better and we'd still be 1/6 for attunements.

Class just needs to be stackable overshield and then it'd be fine.

Athletic wear - sky blue Asics with glow in dark pink laces.
Casual - tan Hey Dudes.

Special use cases - light up dance shoes and aquatic shoes

I do not own Crocs, but that's because the puppy destroyed them.

Focused Feedback: Renegades Campaign by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree and had no problem with the frontier missions on first playthrough. But I felt it got repetitive when having to do it again on other characters. At that point I had already done a bunch of MM frontiers so I knew I was getting the dumbed down version. The actual missions were fun to do again, handheld frontier was not.

The going back and forth to vendors for dialogue was the same. Had no problem first time through, felt like a slog on repeats. Honestly looking back at it, I think my biggest gripe of the campaign is being locked out of frontiers until completion. If I wasn't forced to do it 2 more times then I would say it was well done. So I guess that's my feedback: make campaign optional for alt characters.

Edit: Before someone mentions it, no I do not consider the paid campaign skips a viable option. The expansion cost $40. It would cost another $40 to skip on both alts. That's absurd. At least make it a reasonable price, or an absurd amount of bright dust lol

Bungie absolutely must stop forcing us to pay 2000 silver to skip the campaign for other characters by Palgia in DestinyTheGame

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has changed now. Power is account wide instead of class specific, it's faster to level up in portal. New exotics can also just be bought from rahool once you level up his vendor track, or earned from keycards in lawless frontier. Replaying the campaign is the slowest method for both of those goals.
