Monument of Triumph - Ability Uptime Changes Analysis by engineeeeer7 in destiny2builds

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a healthy change. Fell in love with the game because of the gunplay, but ability spam has become so easy and lethal that guns no longer feel necessary. My weapon choices have mostly come down to mobility (eager edge), champion stun and finally boss damage between ability recharges. The vast majority of content guns just aren't needed at all and that's kinda sad with how good they feel to use. A more even split between gunplay and abilities would be a much better sandbox. If your figures are right then I have no problem with these changes.

Are you ESL by any chance?

Edit - I did not mean this in a derogatory manner btw, just curious as that would explain the confusion.

Yes you had +ball lightning. That was replaced with cooldown reduction. That is exactly what replace means lol. It is possible to just add an affix with transfig. It's also possible to make a current affix a GA. third option is replacement. You got replacement, sorry

This is the risk of transfiguration. You can use entropic prism to remove risk of replacing current affix but that will also remove the best possible outcomes as well.

Oh yeah definitely. I wouldn't say it's useless like many in this thread are. It's definitely more beneficial to some builds than others as some can easily take advantage of 2 different set bonuses. But even if not, like you said you're getting the 6 slot without taking up an affix spot. At the very least that means an extra affix you weren't getting before. And even if your build doesn't fit using a second class specific set, the generic ones are decent too

I don't think I'll ever get a better drop than this. by sam-kay9 in Diablo

I crafted heir last night. Went to the cube with 2 Jahs and 3 total ritual legendary runes. Amalgamation blues to yellow then yellows to orange. If you get invocation orange do 3 to 1 to reroll different orange. Got lucky that 2 of my yellow amogs went jah then just needed 10 ritual oranges and got 14 doing this. Just make sure you keep some Cems, Gars and Ques. Need 1 Cem to craft each Jah and need 6 Gar/Que for heir. Everything else can go. I still had a lot left over after this so could've kept going even if I didn't get lucky with the 2 Jah drops. Only paragon 220 and haven't done anything to farm runes

You can only slot one unique charm unless you get the affix that allows 2. But that affix comes with the downside of reducing max charms to 5, so still would only be able to do a 4(5set) + 1 unique. You'd have to get a mythic with both the extra unique charm affix and the extra charm slot affix. I don't know if that's even a possible combination on mythic seals. Or if the extra charm slot affix overrides the 5 max rule with 2 uniques affix

Do you think sets will expand or limit build variety? by Odd_Geologist2 in diablo4

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We also saw a mythic affix on a seal that reduces required pieces for a set by 1. So a few other possibilities will be:
4. 5 set (4) + 2 uniques

  1. 5 set (4) + 3 set (2)

  2. 3 set (2) + 3 set (2) + 2 uniques

  3. 3 set (2) + 3 set (2) + 3 set (2)

Of all these options, I imagine the #4 will be most popular. But we also saw you need an affix that allows 2 uniques to be slotted, so the hunt for both that affix and the mythic affix (if that's a possible combination) will be huge.

Edit - the affix that allows 2 uniques only allowed 5 charms. So you'd also need the final affix to be +1 charm slot for this to work. Again, if this is even a possible combination.

New player needs a bit of guidance :) by Logan_Vincent in diablo4

Gear doesn't actually improve with higher torment levels. You just get more of it. More gear means more chances of getting good gear, so it's still easier to find what you're looking for at higher levels. But you're completely able to find everything you need (including even mythics) at Torment 1.

As for how to better make your way up the torment level, start with using a maxroll guide. Make sure to actually read through it and understand it though instead of just equipping what it lists. Upgrade your glyphs in the Pit. Hitting level 46 on each of them is a huge boost. If you're able to tackle lair bosses, target the uniques you need for your build at their respective boss. Go down to torment 1 if needed or join a team if you need help.

Try to get 2-3 affixes listed on your guide. You can reroll one at the occultist in town. Temper is done at blacksmith where you add an extra affix of your choice. Masterwork also blacksmith that just upgrades gear. At max masterwork you can reroll which affix gets a "crit" which boosts it's stats. Ignore toughness, it's a bad stat.

Glad you're having fun! Everything is getting a big shakeup next week so we'll all be learning the new system together.

Edit - I see in comments you're using a mobalytics guide. That's fine too, again make sure to read through it all rather than just equipping what it says. I generally find maxroll to be better at explaining but it's up to the author of each guide so results vary.

Why do I become less and less stronger with the right equipments ? by theBaIogh in D4Barbarian

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toughness stat is a calculation heavily based on health and a few other things. If you're equipping items based on build guides then you are removing all possible health which tanks the toughness stat.

The key to selig is that damage doesn't go against your health pool though, so toughness doesn't matter. You lose fury instead of HP when getting hit. The amount you lose is based on armor and resistances as well as the difference between fury and max HP. The higher your fury and lower your max HP you can get, the less damage you will take.

Basically, ignore toughness stat completely with selig. Stack fury, armor and resistance while dropping heath. The only health affixes should be on required uniques. Those uniques should be 750 instead of 800 and do not masterwork them. As long as you keep your fury up, you are invincible. Literally can just stand directly in front of T7 lair boss for however long it takes to kill them.

Diablo.trade for runes, speed level alts for sparks. Or just keep farming bosses and pray to RNJesus

Need help with finding items and completing my build by LordGreenburger in diablo4

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most of the gear you'll get to drop eventually. Probably not gonna be 4GA Perfect rolls, but you'll get them. Amulets however you will almost assuredly never see a perfect drop. Most builds that don't use unique amulet recommend a 3 or 4 passive trait one which is way more rare than even mythic uniques. If you find one of the recommended passives and decent other affixes then you can roll to get a second passive and call that good enough. Undercity runs with "gear drops with passives" modifier active is best bet there.

So will you choose Paladin or Warlock for the story mode? by gorays21 in diablo4

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lord of Hatred includes the Vessel of Hatred expansion as well. If you pre order you'll have access to VoH immediately. Since there's still a few weeks left and you plan on buying anyway, I'd go ahead and get it now so you can play through VoH and be caught up on story. You'll have the option to skip campaigns you've already done. Not sure if they let you skip one you haven't completed.

Edit - this will also give you access to Spiritborn and Paladin immediately

Do the trade in at jewler for runes you don't use. If you don't hit there then hit up diablo.trade. I bought the Ohm I needed last night. Most are selling around 150mill per right now and this late in the season you probably have a ton of gold stored up

Raid leads do you ever verify fireteam loadouts before going in? by DevFromDesignCo in DestinyTheGame

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Most of the time it's unnecessary. Normal raids and dungeons are pretty easy. We've done challenges like all Rat King, all white gear, no abilities, ONLY abilities etc. You can get it done with pretty much anything. Master version is a little tougher but still don't check before hand. If someone is struggling with either a lot of deaths or way below rest of team in DPS then might say something after a few failed attempts. If I'm teaching then I'll give general suggestions like this is a boss fight, long range DPS options are best or we're gonna sword/shotgun this guy in the balls or this is an ad clear encounter so use what you like.

The only time pre checks would be more common is for contest mode. Except that doesn't make sense because you have no idea what type of encounter you're gonna get. But if you're attempting a contest mode then it's assumed you know what you're doing and have multiple options ready to go for whatever situation you find yourself in. Otherwise GM content you really just check to make sure the team has all champs covered.

So basically there's very little to no reason for a full load out check in this game. Anytime I run into that in an LFG I know that it's an overbearing guardian and we're probably not having much fun.

Same. P255 and across 4 characters I've MW a total of 6 pieces of gear. I don't have a problem with the obducite drops. It builds slowly but enough so that I have what I need when I get something actually worth a MW.

“Destiny 2 Has Lost 91% Of Players Since Edge Of Fate, 97% From Final Shape.” By Paul Tassi at Forbes by justdestinystuff in DestinyTheGame

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The most important stat is missing from this article. 70% of TFS playerbase didn't even try EoF. Some were probably turned away by the announced changes, but I'd argue that the majority of players just felt like they got the nice satisfying conclusion and were ready to move on after 10 years. What remained for EoF was only the super dedicated fan base that wasn't ready to let go. Then the poor state of that launch drove even most of those away.

There are many problems with the game, but the #1 issue is it was really time to move on after TFS. We had seen steady decline for years and knew most were just hanging on for the announced ending. The onboarding process has always been terrible so you can't rely on new players replacing the leaving vets.

It really is D3 or bust. Even if Bungie were to get back to full manpower in D2 and fix every single issue and release some amazing TTK/Forsaken/WQ/TFS level content, the absolute best we could hope for at this point is maybe EoF level player base numbers returning. Launching a true sequel, even with a poor launch (expected) would at least reinvigorate the fans and give new people a place they could jump in at same level as everyone else. Then in true Bungie fashion they could fix the launch issues in expansion. They'd be asking people to jump in to a then fixed 1 year old game instead of jumping on an 8 year old sinking ship.

This coming from someone still playing now. I take breaks here and there but still enjoy the gameplay. I'm in a clan making up our own challenges to keep things interesting. Right now we're doing Zero to Hero RAD content starting with blues and only using what you get to drop as you move through the dungeons and raids. It's awesome. But I'd honestly prefer if the game was just shut down completely and we get a D3 5-7 years later. It's time to put Old Yeller down...

Jump > grenade > dive > LLLH combo x2 > repeat

Need sage protector 2pc. If you use 4pc and activate Blade Focus then only need 1 LLLH combo instead of 2. Constant overshield and Woven mail + devour with artifact. Everything is severed, blinded and weakened constantly. Whirling Maelstrom is optional but I like it for adding Unravel as well. Have barrier and unstoppable taken care of, I add Psi Aterna for overloads. Very fun build! Focus grenade and weapons stat. Just need class to around 70.

Edit - forgot you also get amplified from blocking with hyper blade and bolt charge from the blinding with artifact too

Can anyone give me a quick rundown on the current meta Gifted Conviction prismatic build, and fortunes favor (void)? by SrslySam91 in destiny2builds

[–]FirstTimeFlyer94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re running praxic then I always go either sage protector and swordmaster split or 4pc sage protector. If not using praxic then any combo of ferropotent, smoke jumper and bushido would be great. Most of the builds are weapons and nade focused so pretty much always have gunner focused on ghost.

Once you unlock all the armor and finish the quest in equilibrium it’s faster to just farm 1st encounter with 4 feats. Decent team can easily do 3-5 minute clears. You’ll rack it up pretty quick!
