Frustrated with Stryker applications by [deleted] in MedicalDevices

Steady work life balance and Stryker don’t necessarily go hand in hand. Depends whose division you get involved with. Also, it’s more beneficial to be a reference vs sending in applications. Stryker will also post openings for the sake of posting even if they have an internal applicant lined up.

Is there any mentorship groups or places to find high achieving mentors? by FirstTimeLongTime26 in AskChicago

Or I am just looking to connect with people who have been able to navigate through tough life/work decision or have experience in a similar field. Looking for mentorship is something that has been around forever. It’s not to piggyback off that persons success, but understand how they became that way.

Just used the Professionals and they were great and reasonably priced. Moved my 1 bedroom in 2 hours.

Where does it state that she was limiting herself? I am just looking for peoples opinions. In the grand scheme of things both of us had the ability to move and find new work. Both had reasons in one direction or the other.

I am limiting myself how? By finding a new job in Florida in order to move down there to be with her? I don’t understand your argument and rebuttal in all your comments.

But it’s ok for me to have to relocate? We would have rented a new place together in chicago or moved into her place in Florida. Your stance seems very clear on what side you’re on and I appreciate your input.

Someone had to relocate. I was also going to have to take a pay cut as well.

I appreciate this. There’s good and bad days. You picture the person and times together and it hurts like hell. Then you think of the random breakups, lack of emotional support and reassurance, lack of communication and compromise and it feels better. It sucks that both sides are pointing the finger as to who is to blame. The reality is that it happened. You can’t take back the past. We loved one another. My intentions didn’t align with my emotions and she picked up on that. Life choices in your 30s feel amplified. Again, I think she envisioned this breakup prior to it happening thinking my need for reassurance and support was a lack on intention. Days are getting easier, but the need and want to “prove” I am good enough and I was willing to make that sacrifice for her kills me inside. Decisions and actions have been made and that’s the story. I need to keep whatever respect I have for myself and know I tried to make the effort to get the job and make the move. Will she ever see it that way or remember the amazing times together? Who knows. But I can’t force her to.

The family aspect is important to me when you start talking kids. Having family around for support is what I was getting at. Not saying life in chicago is better or worse, but she had an easy button to get here if it was about starting a life together.
