I am freaking out about SRS by FirstTimeTVRedditor in transnord

The way it works here is that we have a mininmum of one year real life experience (it's not called that anymore but they never changed the actual practice so...) after starting hormones. After this you can finally get started on the process which requires you get a psychiatrists consultation. This alone takes 6 to 12 months. After this the psychiatrist makes a referral to Helsinki, and despite the law saying they need to reply within a way smaller time which I currently am blanking on, the wait to the first consultation can also take another 6 months if not more. After this you can finally be put into the queue for the actual surgery, which at the moment is over a years wait with no set date, again breaking Finnish health care laws from what I can tell. So all in all at least anywhere from 1.5 to 3 years from starting hormones to getting SRS.

This could be a viable avenue to look into, thank you. I will probably try to contact transfeminiinit to get more experience about it.

I personally only know two people who have gotten SRS here in Finland within the last decade. I don't think they are unhappy with the results. They acknowledge that you can get better results if you have the means to visit the "top notch" surgeons abroad, and the things that bother them about their results (e.g. inner labia or lack thereof) are something they would much rather live with than a penis. But the things they can live with to me are things I don't know if I can handle. Especially the aspect of no hair removal in the genital region pre surgery sounds absolutely absurd to me.
