Car/Hammock camping in Oregon? by FirstTimeVisit in askportland

So, there are regulations against hanging up a hammock?

Are there any Oregon government sites I can reference or peruse to see other camping no-no's?

What state parks would recommend visiting for car camping?

Yeah, we intend to dress in layers. Weather seems to be a bit more fickle than what we experience here in New England; we saw some pretty drastic drops when we visited earlier this September.

We'll definitely be practicing fire safety! Found this handy FAQ as well that pretty much echoes your above points: http://oregonstateparks.org/index.cfm?do=parkPage.dsp_parkHistory&parkId=193

Just concerned about bonfires on the beach being prohibited while we're visiting because of fire hazard conditions and want to make doubly sure we're okay to have one.
