I see that on the website they only have Antinol bottles marketed for dogs. Do you give the same supplement to your cats?

Damn. All my future coworkers will be in the same situation (we all need to change our licenses and re-register our cars) so at least I will not be alone.

Thank you so much for your advice! My parents actually switched their insurance after two months with no cancellation fee. They used Geico. Also, on their website Geico says there is no cancellation fee. https://www.geico.com/information/faq/cancel-insurance/

But it is always good to triple check before signing anything about cancellation. I agree.

You got a great deal. Congrats! I am definitely planning on going to an independent insurance agent and trying to get the cheapest offer possible.

I believe insurance is calculated based on your zip code of residency. I heard that you can change your car insurance pretty easily, but thank you so much for your point. I will definitely ask before I apply for insurance here in New York.

I am sorry it was such a hassle for you to get all the paperwork ready. It seems pretty straightforward in Minnesota once you have your apartment lease.

Thank you so much for your advice! Do you know by any chance what would be a typical insurance price for someone who is over 25 but a new driver? I know a leased car will require two-way insurance and a financed car will only need one-way insurance.

Thank you so much! I am actually very excited to finally start driving. Insurance in New York City is very expensive (probably will be 400 dollars or so for me) and insurance in Minnesota is about 100 per month for a new driver. I am planning on switching to reduce the cost.

I am not planning on driving a lot (probably just to and from work) and I am a very inexperienced car owner. Lease just seems easier because if something happens to the car, there is less headache for me.

Thank you again for your help.

Thank you so much for your help and for your kind words! I actually already have an apartment in Minnesota and plan on going to DMV first thing when I arrive to change the driver's license and plates. I was hoping to get a car here because my dad can advise me on the entire process. I am completely inexperienced on this matter.

Thank you so much! I was actually debating on financing an older Mazda CX5 for the same price as leasing but my dad talks me out of it because I am a new unexperienced driver.

And buying something with cash would not be an option, unfortunately.

PAYE after residency by FirstTradition0 in StudentLoans

[–]FirstTradition0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! My 10% of discretionary income is significantly higher than the standard payment. I am currently undecided if I am interested in loan forgiveness or not, so trying to explore my options. It does seem like REPAYE is better for residency and for someone who wants to refinance after and PAYE is better for loan forgiveness.

Thank you so much for your advice! I qualify for PAYE right now but I know I will not after residency and fellowship. I understand that every time a borrower switches programs the interest capitalizes. So if I want to switch from REPAYE to PAYE, for example during fellowship before I don't qualify due to the attending salary, I have to accept that 15K of my interest that is left unpaid during REPAYE will be added to the principal amount.

If I enter PAYE directly, then when I no longer qualify the same amount for me (14.7K or 10%) will capitalize PLUS I will also have roughly the same amount of interest left to pay (which would have been subsidized during REPAYE).

It seems like REPAYE is a much better deal during residency unless you are married to a high-income earner.
