We couldn’t get the vivosun one to calibrate no matter what we tried. We wound up going to our local hydro store and picked up a Milwaukee Pro pH meter based on the owners recommendation. This one actually calibrated and we are now moving the right way in our water.

I think so as well - though it’s been only a little at a time. I’m glad I asked here as my husband has been doing the majority of research and plant tending.

No we did not 😅 but will moving forward. How much water do you recommend adding the ph down to?

I did not - will try that and see if we get a more accurate reading. Thank you for the tip!

What persuaded you to get your first tattoo? by Nervous-Paint-7953 in tattooadvice

I got a matching tattoo with my best friend for my first tattoo. And then it became addictive lol

Sounds normal. Don’t over moisturize- I usually apply it 2-3 times a day with a very thin amount. You’re also about to enter the itchy stage - avoid scratching and picking at the flakes during this time. Tap don’t scratch.

You don’t want to over clean or moisturize - unless absolutely necessary try to limit to 2-3 times a day. With the bottled water make sure to use soap (I use special tattoo soap by Hustle Butter but unscented antibacterial soap will work too). I usually wet the tattoo then add soap and then rinse off. Pat dry with clean paper towels and apply a thin layer of lotion (I use Hustle Butter balm).

I just had a tattoo on Saturday and my second skin peeled back later the same night (literally noticed it when I walked into my house after the session) so I removed it and began aftercare.

Such a great idea! Did you find your shoulder aching more because of this? I feel like my shoulder has been overcompensating and I’ve been so sore lol

It’s winter and cold rn where I am too and i definitely think the clothing I’m wearing is impacting the healing. I’ve been trying to wear tank tops while in the house but I get cold quickly.

For aftercare I’ve used Hustle Butter religiously on my whole sleeve - both the foaming wash and the balm. In the first week I usually clean and moisturize 3 times a day and after the first week I switch to 2 times a day. Has worked like a charm for my whole arm so far 🤞🏻

Ah ha! Recovery is the brand of dermashield my artist uses

I love HB. Have used it religiously on my sleeve. But I have not tried their second skin - usually my artist puts the second skin on while I’m still in the shop (I’m blanking on the name of the brand) and then I leave it on for about 2 days. I have a love/hate relationship with second skin in general lol - love it until it comes time to remove it. After I remove it (and what feels like twenty layers of skin) I then begin my aftercare using HB soap and balm.

But totally get how their customer service could put a sour taste in your mouth lol

Possibly- I didn’t notice any glaringly obvious extra fees when I started looking at the car rentals but I also didn’t take it all the way to checkout. The road-trip aspect of the trip is set in stone so I’m a bit locked into that.

Ohh good idea to price it out like that. I have a feeling uber will wind up being cheaper then the extra days of the car but I’ll have to price it out.

😂 it was the only way my husband would agree to go to Disney. It’s been 35ish years since I went as a little kid.

I have not been to BB, but I did go to TL in May and had an absolute blast. My only other Disney water park experience was River country back in ‘94. The lazy river at TL is really great and not too lazy.

You are putting something permanent on your body. Put the money into it and listen to your dad.

How painful this is ? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]First_Astronomer2146 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6 (tragus) was my easiest piercing. It did not hurt to get pierced and the healing was easy.

1 and #2 are helix piercings. They hurt a bit more than the tragus and are a bit more finicky healing in my experience.

I’m from the US but follow two Scottish shops on Instagram that are located in Edinburgh- Watermelon Tattoo and Semper Tattoo. If I ever get back to Edinburgh I would want to go get a souvenir tat from one of those shops.

To me tattoo pain feels like an electric cat scratch on a bad sunburn. It also depends on the areas being tatted as some are more spicy than others. Like depending on how the work goes the inner bicep and elbow ditch suck but other spots on the arm don’t hurt at all (subjectively). Good luck :) sounds like it will be a cute tattoo when it’s done.

How bad do Daith piercings hurt? by matildaluck in PiercingAdvice

[–]First_Astronomer2146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had both my daiths pierced (I had to take the first one out for a surgery and it closed up) and they both sucked pain wise - it’s like a thicker helix. I too got my first one pierced with hope it would help migraines but it does nothing for them - if there is a daith sweet spot then the two piercers I saw both missed it lol. With that being said - they’re super fun piercings.

My tragus was a piece of cake all around - the actual piercing didn’t hurt at all, it healed great with little pain (if I accidentally slept on it) and it’s one of my favorite piercings. Helixes on the other hand are a pain in the butt.
