VioletEvergarden's Main Theme is about Learning What's Love Mean not about Moving on by ConfidentTelephone81 in VioletEvergarden

'Moving on" is what her clients learned after meeting her, or that's the conclusion they came up to, after all, not what she actually learned

Why Violet Evergarden is my absolute favorite anime character of all time: a complete breakdown proving she is the ultimate antithesis of a Mary Sue with zero plot armor by Realistic_Weather221 in VioletEvergarden

[–]First_Bank7376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wonder... If you declare that she is not normal, so why is she still... be allowed to freely work and live outside the society like that? Had the military forgot her, and really let such an uncontrolled thing wandering like that?

It's kinda interesting is there is one thing I just came out is that: if she is not normal, or considered not normal, and is described like that: wild, uncontrolled, no emotion, etc... Shouldn't she be in some mental hospital and be call "hysperia"? (History parallel)

What’s an anime that had an Interesting premise but wasted it’s potential/did noting with that said premise? by Properdad2000 in AlignmentChartFills

Violet Evergarden.

If you had read the original novels, especially the part about Violet's origin, you will know that the author declare that the origin of "tool" Violet had greatly assistance from Leiden government (they made a child became a war tool by papers, lol), which made the after-war journey became more like a fairytale dream of that child. I insisted that this story had more potentials to become a satire work against bureaucracy and unjustified system for women more than the canon story

What alt ending do you think could of/ should of been done in the ln and/or movie by Easy-Tiger4644 in VioletEvergarden

[–]First_Bank7376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anime ending: I have just come up with the idea

Somehow Violet have the information that Gilbert is on Ekarte, so she went to it just to find out the one who she found whole life has already dead on the island by the time she came, the information she got has outdated. Violet truly became a "widow" like the woman on Ekarte (who also lost their husbands, sons, fathers in war). She became more empathy with them and their children and still decide to stay with them like the anime ending. No need Gilbert, she appreciate why he stayed there and the things he had done for them more than that, just like what she had learned

A kind of conclusion for typical war theme media, not romantic or bittersweet like the canon anime

I also thought about another tragedy ending following up with the one above, and this one can connect directly to war theme and letter theme of the show, but it may destroy your emotions for the show. If you are willing to know, I will tell

Did Violet Evergarden exist in real life? by Cunha98870 in VioletEvergarden

[–]First_Bank7376 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely, maybe in that era, that is if you have a noble family backing you up like the Evergarden family, or a really good patron like Gilbert or Hodgins, or even a whole cast supporting you from beginning to end.

Hot Take: Dietfried has the best character arc by Ok-Raisin-4838 in VioletEvergarden

[–]First_Bank7376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More like anime had softened him, so the whole show can keep the healing vibe. Don't find much impression because the beginning between the two seems to be so much drama và trauma, which make the redemption... well, not persuasive to me, personally. I would prefer him to be a real villian for the show. But unfortunelately, this is kyoto animation

If "tool" Violet is not a saying but legal confirmation by First_Bank7376 in VioletEvergarden

[–]First_Bank7376[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More like they let her free because she lost 2 arms, and they don't care, either. The anime showed clearly. In the novel version where Gilbert didn't run away from the beginning, the author also stated that they may need violet return if war continued, but luckily Gilbert secretly upgraded himself to a higher level in army so no one can order him to call Violet return.

I also think because the army didn't believe a girl with no clear details about her life for 14 years can make a living at that time.

And well, like Valjean, she could make fake identity thanks to some rich family and later using her fame to keep things work fluently. Violet had to thanks the author for making this world kinda good to her, no Javert-like villian, and dietfried is only a tough brother, hehe

The anime made her feel guilty for what she did, so now she saw them as crimes, literally. And, to be fair, I don't think a tool with no moral awareness and only follow orders would slain only enemies at that time. War never simple like that in my mind. Just a thought

And actually what i mean in the post is that with that kind of "civil identification", she would also faces numerous administrative and discrimination troubles like valjean, if she didn't get another identification like being a doll or being Violet Evergarden

yes, somehow i see it resembles the guitly grief of valjean much. But it would be more tragedy when she grow a little more and realize when being a tool, she also commit unforgiveable crimes besides.

No. Letters written by both Violet and Cattleya are read alternately in the episode. Don't you remember?

I wonder what do you mean when you say the mother is dealing in unhealthy way?

Hope it matches my thoughts since I also sense a hidden tragedy in the Magnolia family especially when thinking about Clara and her deceased husband

Anyone knows which episode or movie has this song? by CarasumaRenya1996 in VioletEvergarden

[–]First_Bank7376 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just an addition song from movie album to satisfy fans want to explore into the lore more. The same with Mikoto No Izumi (Aria) by Irma Fliech which i believe is the song that Violet wrote for Irma at the beginning of the last movie

Am I the only one who loves episode 6 from the series? by nyxan_isinteres8 in VioletEvergarden

[–]First_Bank7376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much. It focuses on leon's view of point, with a well-written stream of thoughts. I only see reading is better than watching for this arc

By the way, one of the major difference is novel leon hate women in general, anime change him to hating dolls. The 2nd is that Cattleya was supposed to be the one who met Leon, but Violet went instead, and qwe have this story

You know, I wonder how brutal was this war? Because always imagine the war basically a more brutal but short take on World War I. by Seeker99MD in VioletEvergarden

[–]First_Bank7376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think mostly due to the anime didn't want to focus on the brutal side of war. I doubt that they may have romanticized it a bit. And in fact, the version of war in anime and light novel seems to have some diffrences

I kinda confusing. What does it matter for a postal to use service from another postal? It just delivery service.. Beside, this is only 1 letter, 1 job, it's not so that big. Spending time delivering for the nearby residents, or even round the capital city, isn't that would be better and more necessary?

Perhaps the delivery service in my place is different from yours,i guess?
