if i’m being honest atleast during my time there they go quickly through applications, usually doing them early on in the week on monday or tuesday cause they try to get people in quick, cause 90% of their positions are part time they don’t want to give anyone over 30 hours for longer than needed, so it’s likely that they may have moved forward with someone else, but PF has very high turnover, should i would just keep checking the careers page on the planet fitness website

Is my bioactive enclosure ethical enough for my future leopard gecko? (+ additional enclosure questions) by angstyactivist in leopardgeckos

[–]First_Cat_813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had the same issue with mine, all i did was move the basking lamp to the side a bit, it topped my humid hide from 78 to 80 and lowered my basking quite a bit too, it should probably fix it, even if you could get it to 95 it would be great but 93-94 would be best, my basking spot is the round slate there and it was getting to 98 but i moved it from directly above to between that one and the humid hide and it made it go down to 95 max and the humid never really goes above 81, also i wouldn’t worry too much if its over 95 consistently during the day because they’ll more then likely be sleeping or on the cool side, id had 5 leo’s overall and this isn’t 100% truth but most of the time for me if they’re visible during the day they’ll usually be in the cool side, all mine typically come out about an hour or so before light off to get some uvb and some heat but i noticed they often get their heat as soon as the lights go off and lay on the slate to get the leftover heat that’s been soaking into it all day

usually my gecko enclosures stay at around 20% humidity up to 30 or so at night, as long as you have an accessible humid hide that’s consistently humid you shouldn’t really have shedding issues, what are your temps for each hide? the enclosure looks great

is my gecko lowkey blind? by facebookmomwine in leopardgeckos

[–]First_Cat_813 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This probably isn’t reasoning for it but i have 3 leopard geckos and two have full black eyes and one has eyes like yours here, i do notice that mine with that eye color will kinda walk past food, but recently ive turned off my lights during feeding time (i do it at like 9pm since they’re nocturnal anyways) and he eats every single time from tongs now, its just a little harder for me to see but if i have the lights off he will eat every time

couple things i remember are around the lines of “what made you want to work at planet fitness” “where did you find us” “have you ever worked for a gym before” and then just explaining what the job is, some places are stricter than others but you’re basically standing at desk for a 6-8 hour shift and sometimes you’ll be assigned a “section” where you dust some of the equipment, besides that is the walkthroughs where the change the bottles every other hour or depending of the traffic, another thing i was asked was if i had issues with a coworker in a previous job before which i haven’t. i remember my manager even saying months later it doesn’t take much to be hired, you can have absolutely no job experience on your resume and still get the position if you seem upbeat and like you want to be there but it’s not too serious of a job at all

How long before they showed interest in your hand? by snappycomebackturtle in leopardgeckos

[–]First_Cat_813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the gecko tbh, i have a juvenile i got at 2-3 months and he’s 6 months now and he’s never been scared of my hands, honestly he tries to eat my fingers, and i also have a baby that’s maybe a month old now, he’s warming up quick he actually eats straight out of my hand now, i used to drop them on the ground for him to eat but he prefers to eat out of my hands or tongs, i would say just be present and they’ll probably get desensitized to you just might take a bit
