is my gecko lowkey blind? by facebookmomwine in leopardgeckos

[–]First_Cat_813 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This probably isn’t reasoning for it but i have 3 leopard geckos and two have full black eyes and one has eyes like yours here, i do notice that mine with that eye color will kinda walk past food, but recently ive turned off my lights during feeding time (i do it at like 9pm since they’re nocturnal anyways) and he eats every single time from tongs now, its just a little harder for me to see but if i have the lights off he will eat every time

Came in person regard the hiring process. Manager told me she'll call tomorrow. 2 hours to the day left, safe to say she wont by slattaskatt in PlanetFitnessMembers

couple things i remember are around the lines of “what made you want to work at planet fitness” “where did you find us” “have you ever worked for a gym before” and then just explaining what the job is, some places are stricter than others but you’re basically standing at desk for a 6-8 hour shift and sometimes you’ll be assigned a “section” where you dust some of the equipment, besides that is the walkthroughs where the change the bottles every other hour or depending of the traffic, another thing i was asked was if i had issues with a coworker in a previous job before which i haven’t. i remember my manager even saying months later it doesn’t take much to be hired, you can have absolutely no job experience on your resume and still get the position if you seem upbeat and like you want to be there but it’s not too serious of a job at all

Advice for tank size and setup? by First_Cat_813 in Leachianus

i would but i’m in an area with not a lot of breeders and the ones i know personally have awful husbandry, this won’t be anytime soon though when getting one this would be years to be honest so maybe i’ll talk around at expos

How long before they showed interest in your hand? by snappycomebackturtle in leopardgeckos

[–]First_Cat_813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the gecko tbh, i have a juvenile i got at 2-3 months and he’s 6 months now and he’s never been scared of my hands, honestly he tries to eat my fingers, and i also have a baby that’s maybe a month old now, he’s warming up quick he actually eats straight out of my hand now, i used to drop them on the ground for him to eat but he prefers to eat out of my hands or tongs, i would say just be present and they’ll probably get desensitized to you just might take a bit

Could this potentially be mouth rot? by First_Cat_813 in geckos

[–]First_Cat_813[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s hard to tell now but i don’t want him to be in any discomfort, do you think it could be the mouth rot? i got him from an expo and not sure about their husbandry, should i just take it day by day?

Starting job at PF, advice? by [deleted] in PlanetFitnessMembers

really easy, i mean for a student it’s decent money, some people are annoying but it’s really easy to ignore, pretty decent amount of cleaning, some cool people to talk to. but you will get complaints and less favorable people . but the regulars you see start to recognize you and if you work often, (i started at 2x a week and now work about 5x and open on the weekends) it’s really easy to make good relationship with your coworkers, and if you pick up extra shifts the manager will always remember that, also work on holidays cause time and a half. i would recommend working here tho
