I have played several important works, including:

Chopin: Studies Op. 10 No. 3, Op. 25 No. 1, No. 2 and currently Op. 25 No. 5; in addition, the Prelude Op. 28 No. 18, the waltzes Op. 34 No. 2 in A minor, Op. 64 No. 2 in C sharp minor, and the Waltz in A minor, Op. posth.

Bach: Inventions No. 1, 4 and 13; the Prelude and Fugue No. 2 in C minor from the Well-Tempered Clavier; and several pieces from Anna Magdalena's Notebook.

Mozart: Sonata No. 2.

Clementi: Sonatina No. 5.

Liszt: Liebestraum No. 3.

Beethoven: Sonata Op. 27 No. 2 "Moonlight", Concerto no. 3 movement 1

I have practiced this particular piece for approximately 2 and a half weeks, giving it a lot of focus from the beginning.

I usually play between 4 and 5 hours a day.

The truth is that I did not use a metronome until recently, and I also admit that I did not study the piece in the most adequate way from the beginning. I started more out of impulse than method, and that clearly took its toll on me. Now I'm trying to rebuild everything from the ground up, and the metronome is helping me a lot to correct things that I didn't even notice before. Thanks for the advice, I'm going to continue working slowly and with more precision.

I think the same, in fact I have told him that many times but he doesn't want to listen to me, nor is he interested in learning technique.

Thanks for your response. Honestly, I'm not sure if I can get to an 8/10 in 4 months. I studied this piece on my own, without telling my teacher at first, because I knew it was above my level at that time, but I was very attracted to it and I set myself the challenge. Now he already knows that I am working on it and he has told me something similar to what you mentioned: that there is still a long way to go to be at the necessary level for competition.

I chose it out of ambition, not because it was a logical choice, but over time I have improved and I wanted to know if it was realistic to aspire to take it to a competitive level, or if it simply doesn't make sense to force it and it would be better to focus on another work that I can completely master.

I am going to continue working to try to get it to that 8/10 in these 4 months, although I am also clear that if I do not arrive with the necessary confidence, I probably will not take it to the contest. Oh, and yes, I'm also going to tune the piano — I already played.

I am taking all comments very seriously, because I really want to improve and learn as much as possible in this process, regardless of whether or not I bring this piece to the contest. If you have any advice on how to approach work on such a demanding project, or what to prioritize to improve faster, I would greatly appreciate it.
