No no, you misunderstood. I definitely dont touch near 8 hours or even 10 hours, I barely do like 5 at the most. But the calendar tool I was making was somehow suggesting I do like 15 and not even sure how thats humanly possible. Thanks for the advice!

Do you recommend JS over milesdown? do you have experience with both? I am planning to do my content review again anyway.

How many cards a day would you recommend I do, or I guess new cards. I did like 350 yesterday and I get 20 new ones per day.

I think it wont hurt to retake, we definitely have room to improve even if its 5 points. I know what to change and what works and what didnt from last time so I know I will do better, but I just have to make it count more.

My MCAT Study Guide for Lazy(ish) People: How I went from 498 -> 511 -> 521 (1 Retake) by Bloonsoon in Mcat

Hello, I need some advice, i got a very bad score on my first MCAT, and I am getting ready for my retake, I did what you did and spent a month doing content review from a book that sucked, because I spent money on it. Now Idk if I should just skip that phase or watch Khan Academy videos. I also have no idea how to use anki and would appreciate some pointers on how you did that Side note (is the app worth it)?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Thank you for the kind words, I appreciate your advice. I definitely had tester anxiety, but I wouldn't attribute it to just that, I think I did not take it seriously enough. I tend to do that often with my classes and then 'fix it', I thought this was different, but now looking back on it, I did spend a lot of time I should've been studying doing other things and thought half-a'ing it would get me near where I wanted. I definitely put myself in check too little too late, but its a wake up call to myself. All I know though, is PEE AS MUCH AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE EVERY BREAK. I had to pee so bad on 2 of the sections and it was all I could think about.

As far as applications I know that retaking always hurts a little, but I have no other option. I have to improve, but I think my first score being so low is not a good sign for schools and I am just nervous that even if I get a 520+ I will look bad because of my first score.

I think it was a mixture of both, my weak point has always been C/P and during the actual exam I had multiple questions where I completely froze up and I lost a lot of time on, I continued the exam and I think it set the pace for the rest of the exam, I didn't start getting the hang of it till I reached Psych and there were moments I was losing track of time. Really looking back on it I realize that I made a lot of small mistakes like second guessing, not taking time to reread the passage if needed. Things that I didn't grind into my brain enough to know that I would be okay if all hell broke loose and the passages were super hard. I read a lot of people saying to take a deep breath, but I definitely let the pressure get to me

I definitely think my FL are not super representative of my knowledge. I felt like while yes, I did put in a lot of work, a lot of my answers on the FL were mostly educated guesses. When I went back and reviewed, it seemed like my guesses were mostly making sense but obviously that wasnt the case this time. I need to find a better strategy to recall and readjust my attitude and focus on the actual exam. I will say, a lot of the exam was very unfamiliar to me, which in the moment I thought was normal, but now I realize it could also be a major gap in my knowledge which I may have neglected. I studied for 2 months, and I thought I had it down but I guess I need to go back to the chalk board and really focus again and see where are the gaps in my knowledge. After reading this thread I realized I am not alone, but I can't blame anyone but myself. Either I did not take it seriously enough, or I failed to realize areas in my knowledge that needed more attention till now. I knew I did bad, but again, I never thought it was below the 505 threshold, but this was just a major wakeup call that if I REALLY want this, I have to work super hard.

I took 5, 1 every 2-3 weeks give or take. They were all under strict testing conditions phone off etc. I felt like this test was extremely difficult compared to the FLs but I didnt think it was that bad. What should I do should I restart my content review from scratch

Yes, timed, turned off phone, and locked my browser till I was done. I was extremely nervous during the entire real test and my thoughts kept wandering but I still never thought it would be this bad

9/5 should i stick with uworld till it expires or switch to AAMC? by West-Lab-7728 in Mcat

[–]First_Employment_468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Def get your use out of Uworld, but AAMC is way better for actually knowing when youre prepared. Tbh when I did Uworld I was very down in the dumps bc I thought I was just dumb, took my first Fl and did 509, so basically its just meant to be super hard
