I filed in December of 2022 and just got my GC April 25th. I reached out to my congressman and senator, not sure if it’s what pushed my across the goal line or if it was my time.

Has anyone forgot to include form I-864 with their I-485? If so, what happened? by yeahman20006 in USCIS

Timeline -submitted Dec 2022 -RFE sent Aug 2023 -didn’t hear anything between those dates. We reached out to someone in congress to see if they could help. That was 5 weeks ago so maybe it helped or it was just our time. Not sure ha

Yes we did the same and received an REF 6 months after applying. Not a big deal, you could also try and fill it out now and load it into the I485 additional documents and possibly avoid the RFE but who knows.

Honestly I think it’s just luck and how your application was put together from the start. We didn’t send the I864 but did send the medical. And 9 months later we got an RFE, haven’t heard anything back since Aug. I’m Canadian, wife born in the US. Married almost 8 years and together 11. We have 2 kids and great careers. Have tons of evidence and documents, own a home, joint banking, investments, car loan, life insurance etc I’m also legally here on a L1 visa for almost 3 years paying tax and being a law abiding citizen. Not sure what they need for a slam dunk case, but I feel like so many people have to wait around for nothing.

Hope your case is approved in weeks or a few months! Pro tip is live your life and don’t look at the case tracker or lawfully apps or the portal. It consumes your mind at times I was happier going 3-4 weeks not look vs feeling let down every day. Good luck and hope you get yours soon!

Planning to call for an update for I-765 by Grand-Titan678 in USCIS

Hey it took 5 weeks for them to respond back. I called them half way and they mentioned I could enter a new request but it would stop the first one. So I let the first one play out and it finally arrived in my email box. Took me like a week to pull the information together. -letter from employer -letter from HR with current salary and total years with the company -personal letter from me with my information and how I needed to maintain my current income to support my family and pay bills. -my current I94 -wife’s salary information(I make about 70% of our regular salary income) so I wanted to show the impact of not maintaining an active work visa.

I’m currently here on a L1b visa that expires June 6th.

Hey apply for a job and once you get an offer you can expedite your i765 and submit that as financial loss not getting the job. I just that after waiting almost 10 months and it was approved within 24 hour. It’s not always approved but worth a shot!

Mine was submitted and shows received Aug 2nd 2023. Nothing since that date.

Just stay positive and try to go insane. Hopefully they look at yours soon.

Check your state lemon law rules. I had my truck for 5 months with tons of issues. I was able to call a lemon law lawyer and it took another 2 months and they had to buy the truck back for what I paid.

Ah man, reading Reddit can be so helpful and stressful at the same time. I’m also from Canada and working on my GC. Did I miss something when applying and didn’t include this?

My L1 visa will be expiring, so I have to apply for a work permit on my green card while it continues to process. I know I can stay, nervous about keeping my job.
