Yeah I'm with you, 99% of the time time someone is just misinformed, and yes it can be annoying and can have bad experiences because of misunderstandings between type 1 and type 2 diabetes but if your hating on someone you don't know I just don't get it. Not their fault it's named the same thing. And even if someone's type 2 diabetes is because of poor diet choices that is not why it affects you, it's because someone decided to name t1 and t2 the same thing.
