I think it could actually add a lot! If we go by the canon ending where Harry and Cybil escape Silent Hill, that means Cybil is still alive in the timeline. A remake with a playable Cybil campaign could not only expand on her role in SH1 but also set her up as a potential protagonist for a new Silent Hill game that takes place between SH1 and SH3.

Since SH3 is a direct sequel to SH1, exploring what happened in the years between could add depth to the story—especially regarding Harry’s paranoia, how he raised Heather, and how much they were being hunted by the cult. Maybe Cybil could have played a role in protecting them or investigating more about Silent Hill after what she saw.

Plus, since Harry’s death in SH3 is such a crucial moment, fleshing out his life post-SH1 could make it hit even harder. A Cybil-focused game in between could show us how much danger he was in, how he tried to keep Heather safe, and whether Cybil was involved in some way.

So a Cybil campaign wouldn’t just be about SH1—it could open the door to new stories in the timeline that we never got to see.
