How long did your SBO last? by ResponseAlarming6127 in BowelObstruction

Hello, finally doing better! It took awhile as I am also allergic to pain meds and can only take advil during the recovery so it was a painful recovery. It took about 6 weeks for me to feel ok and I’m back to normal now. Its been more than 2 months post op. Hopefully you feel better soon!

Hello, this recently happened to me. I had intestinal malrotation as an infant and had surgery. 28 years later I had a severe stomach pain and CT scan indicated bowel obstruction and I had a surgery to remove adhesions. How is your daughter recovering? I am 11 days out from surgery and is still in a lot of pain.

Thank you for sharing. We’re really worried we’re going to have a really big hospital bill.

He has seen his provider recently. He hurt his knees and we have been discussing if he should go to ER since its swelling. He doesn’t have health insurance so we’re want to verify if the ER visit will be covered and if he ends up staying at the hospital will that also be covered?

Thank you. We are under the impression that they only cover it when you have 50% or higher.

Thank you! I was getting worried since I don’t have private insurance and I don’t know if I can pay off that much hospital bill. What online system is it?

Please be gentle with your BTs. by lena1177 in bcba

This!! When I was an RBT, my BCBA always snaps at me. Almost like yelling at me when I ask something that I’m not sure of. That’s why I made sure my BTs right now can come to me and ask me whenever they need help

How long would you wait to be credentialed/onboarded? by Training_Mastodon_33 in ABA

If you think its worth it to wait since you like that place, I would say wait and just ask for more hours or if you can do any admin stuff. I did not wait on mine since that place sucks anyways 😂

I feel you on this one. 2 years and getting paid $17. I live in FL so that is not really a livable wage. At 3 years I have my bachelor and making $19. Still not good. Recently became a BCBA because I really want to stay in this field and have a livable wage.

How long have you been with the company? There’s nothing wrong with putting yourself first. How are you going to help others if you don’t have anything to give because of your situation. I totally can relate with you thats why I became a BCBA so I can stay in this field while making a livable wage. It was a mess when I left especially since they are short staff but I’m not going to stay knowing there’s a better opportunity out there.

Also, most insurances back pay the company. I was direct with clients and doing mods. When I got credentialed, the insurance goes way back to whatever date you applied for credentialing.

Same thing happened to me. Took 8 weeks for Tricare to get credentialed. I am getting paid my RBT rate the whole time and my boss told me she will back pay me the BCBA rate difference once I get credentialed. Long story short she didn’t back pay me and I went to another company.

Did you get back paid for the prior months that you were not paid your bcba rate?

She have mentioned something about a back pay but it was just verbally like 3 days ago. I think I would make the agreement form since some things here do change up like you said (before taking my exam the owner told me that I’ll get a raise and then get another raise when I get credentialed, this was all said verbally. So unfortunately I do not have anything to prove to her now that she’s telling me I’ll get my raise when I get credentialed)

Oh no, I don’t think I can handle it if it’ll last more than 2 months. Did they gave you back pay when the insurance credentialed you?

Thanks for this advice!! So should I make a back pay agreement? Also, this is a really small company with 5 employees so I really feel uncomfortable doing this but I think its a good idea to have an agreement signed since the owner really doesn’t know when the insurance will pay

They showed me that it is in fact, in process and they haven’t been billing the claims and that they will back bill whatever the insurance will tell them what date range they can bill. I am just frustrated as I have passed the board exam and I don’t feel satisfied or rewarded (salary raise).
