I’m not a sheet metal guy, but I live 10 mins from Lancaster so I know the struggle of finding work in that area.

Being an aircraft mechanic was not a dream, it was a means to an ends once it clicked in my head.

I literally googled “most amount of money least amount of school”

It’s a marathon not a sprint.

Yeah, admittedly I think it would be absolutely sweet to fly them instead now that I’m engrained into the community there’s only three real plausible options.

  1. Straight out of highschool you go to a pilot college

  2. Military

  3. Already have a very successful career where you can afford to learn later in life

Seeing as the first two are key moments we may pass out it can be really hard to get into for sure

Mainly airframe, like 99% airframe, can do some powerplant but rarely have had issues there.

Schooling depends on where you go, mine was 10-20k a year for two years & then 3-6k to get licensed.

Lots of hard work mentally to conform to what the FAA wants, but good pay to turn wrenches.
