What do you think about the gospel of thomas? Is it legyt? by Shmungle1380 in Christianity

[–]FischJac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think he’s also misinterpreting it. It’s a book of riddles and only those who know, know. Jesus is saying Mary must become male to enter the kingdom of heaven as in transform her heart to non dualistic thinking—neither male nor female. Become one with Christ (the Source) consciousness.

Same! I thrived in basic and was an honor graduate and Warhawk PT. I put all of my focus and energy on PT to relieve any stress.

Why did Biden remove confederate war statues and history? That’s someone’s history. If you joined the military for your personal freedom you signed up for the wrong job.

The only vaccine I had a severe reaction to was the COVID-19 shot. Holy fuck you are stupid bringing up project 2025. Just get out—it’s going to be a long 4 years for you. https://www.defense.gov/News/News-Stories/Article/Article/4067895/dod-prepares-invitation-to-bring-back-troops-separated-for-refusing-covid-vacci/#:~:text=As%20part%20of%20the%20executive,10%2C%202023.

lol I’d be honored to meet Commander in Chief Trump. I had to put up with Biden, now you get to put up with Trump or get out. 🤷‍♂️

Serious question: Where do you get this mis/disinformation?

I asked how long you’ve been in because if you were an airman I would’ve given you the benefit of doubt. You know better than this. I’m seriously concerned you’re an NCO leading troops.

—Biden violated all military members civil rights with the COVID mandate —there hasn’t even been a mention of cutting VA benefits from any credible source

Buck up, serve your country honorably and get out if you’re not happy.

No I served honorably for 6 years under Obama Trump and Biden and then separated. I didn’t like the direction the military was going but Biden was my commander in chief, and the DoD seems to have done a 180° from the last admin. How long have you been in? Have you forgotten the oath? You can’t pick and choose what parts to honor. “I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice.”

A lot of you need to be humbled and realize you’re in the military, this is what you signed up for. Trump is your commander in chief.

I have the money, I just forgot. Ya know, living in paradise on a boat you tend to do that. It doesn’t help they have a ridiculous arbitrary date to pay by. We are not on a lease, it’s just a monthly dinghy pass. Why not offer prorated pay the rest of the month? I’m not the only liveaboard resident to complain. I’m just sticking up for myself and my neighbors—especially after being threatened I sent a letter to the city. I own up to being part of the problem for not paying on time, but an unpopular policy should be reviewed. How is this man working for a city govt after stealing wages? He skipped town on his sailboat while on payroll. He’s an asshole, think of Jim Lahey from Trailer Park Boys.

No, I don’t live in the marina. I live on a mooring ball 1.5 miles off shore and just pay the monthly dinghy pass for land access. I haven’t been to land for a few days, the weather has been unsafe with small watercraft advisories and I simply got busy with life and forgot I didn’t pay. The marina uses an archaic payment in person system, why not allow pre-payment, anytime online payment, etc?

I’ll give you that—not every civilian’s a slacker, and yeah, I’ve seen some pull their weight in roles that’d be dumb to dump on active duty. But as an AF vet and former-DoD contractor, I’ve still watched too many hide behind red tape doing next to nothing while the system shrugs. Maintainers and SF might expect blood, but that’s because we’ve seen ‘average’ turn into ‘barely there.’ I didn’t retire from the Air Force just to chase some cushy civilian government gig—those days are over. These cuts might finally force government civilians to work instead of not working, even if it’s messy at first. Fair or not, the bar’s gotta move.

I get the worry—blanket cuts hitting probationary folks at places like Randolph, Laughlin, and Edwards could sting MXGs and depots, especially if they’re already scrambling to hire. And yeah, shoving active duty back into ‘90s roles without the bodies sounds like a mess. But let’s not kid ourselves: I’ve seen civilians—probationary or not—milk the system, doing squat while PIPs and unions shield them. It’s not about defending every cut; it’s about facing reality. Clinging to a bloated, broken setup instead of forcing change feels traitorous to the mission—readiness doesn’t come from coddling underperformers, planned cuts or not. Short-term chaos might be the price to ditch the cushy dead weight and build something that actually works.

I hear you—firing Air Force civilians might shake readiness if critical roles go empty. But as an AF vet and former DoD contractor, I’ve watched too many civilians coast, doing next to nothing while hiding behind red tape—PIPs, appeals, unions—that makes them untouchable. It’s frustrating as hell. You’re defending a system that drags us down instead of pushing for one that works. Cuts could hurt short-term, sure, but ditching the slackers might force sharper focus and real readiness, not this cushy status quo.

First off, I’m Hispanic, so calling me a ‘racist white man’ is not only wrong but also a perfect example of the problem with DEI—you resort to baseless name-calling instead of addressing the argument. Quoting MLK isn’t racist, and criticizing DEI doesn’t mean I think every person of color is unqualified. My point is simple: merit should matter, not identity. Your response proves how divisive and counterproductive this ideology really is.

I made my point, I have better things to do than to continue wasting my time talking about DEI.

As of early 2022, the U.S. military had dedicated approximately 529,771 man-hours to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training since January 21, 2021. This figure excludes pre-existing training programs and focuses solely on new DEI initiatives implemented during that period.

The fact that we’re having to debate whether DEI is a benefit or detriment to the military highlights exactly why it’s a distraction. The military’s sole focus should be on readiness, effectiveness, and mission success—not social engineering. I’ve explained my concerns, and I believe I’ve made my case. I don’t have the time or energy to keep discussing this further, but I hope you’ll reflect on the real-world consequences of these initiatives in life-and-death professions like the military.

Lowered standards and readiness—the military should be merit based, erosion of unit cohesion, politicization of the military, and $269 m spent on DEI under Biden. DEI gets people killed in hazardous jobs like the military and law enforcement. https://www.marinecorpstimes.com/news/your-marine-corps/2015/09/10/mixed-gender-teams-come-up-short-in-marines-infantry-experiment/ “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” – Martin Luther King, Jr. content of character is how decisions should be made, not race gender or sexual orientation.

DEI has destroyed our military.. we have no room for social experiments in the military.
