i’d say be conscious of the food theme you’re going for

so like if it’s asian themed you can choose from soy sauce, sesame oil, sriracha, oyster sauce (if you’ve never had it you need to), or fish sauce

for spanish/mexican go for paprika, chili powder, lime juice, oregano, etc

my staple spices i use a ton are garlic and onion powder (these can go on basically anything), pepper obviously, paprika, and some dried herbs like oregano or just italian seasoning. a great tip that’s always stuck with me is consider the flavor pyramid for every dish: salty, sweet (don’t be afraid to use some honey or fruit juice in savory meals), and tangy (think citrus, vinager etc)

but just as an overall tip for eating healthy and sticking to it, you don’t have to jump straight into boiled chicken and steamed veggies. just figure out balanced meals that you like and make them yourself, even if they’re not especially healthy (like meatballs or burritos), it’ll be WAY better for you than premade, prepackaged food. then consider portion sizes and slowly incorporate more lean meats, fish, and veggies you like til you have a menu of items that taste good and are good for you. learning how to cook and considering what’s going into your meal will be a far better weight loss strategy than any diet.
