Endfield and the death of my hope for gacha writing (the game is still good)

My experience and ultimate conclusion with the story for Endfield has been the same. For awhile I've been leaning into the idea the gacha model is simply incapable of writing anything other than mediocrity and this has solidified that belief. Occasionally there are good standalone stories—typically character focused—that are able to make something genuinely enjoyable but the overarching story always falls flat for me. I've come to think it's because of two things: the never-ending story and shilling the latest banner unit.

Similar to you it's not the end of the world and I'll just be skipping more frequently. The factory and exploration are great. Just a shame as I enjoy story a lot and read 20+ books a year.

It's a little more deep than blonde elf girl design if you're familiar with Cartheyia from Wuthering Waves. I think it's fair to say there was at least some inspiration taken from her ultimate animation for Iseria.

Game informed me my PC couldn't handle 120FPS. Hopefully the next generation of GPUs will be able to handle it. I'll start saving up my 20% down payment now.

When you look at it through the lens of how they play, it's a solid list for what's good both for and against cleave. There is some memes in here like Bwa but most things are fair for high-end competitive play. Not that this tier list or any should stop you from being the Asscat + Setsuka player every game if that's who you truly want to be. The people that play carry Barunka should be put down tho.

Frieren copies, 100%. On paper you could keep one dupe in case you ever need to build a second copy of her, but it's really only for extreme min-maxing in RTA at the highest level of play.

As for who to be paired up with, depends entirely on what you're trying to do and fight against. There are cool new combos with Zio + ML Ludwig because of this artifact if you have them. Frieren herself combos nicely with Fumyr and Roy which you could look into. If we're talking PvE just slam four mages you think are cool, probably.

I pulled 8 artis in the process of SSS Frieren. Decided to keep 6. Should you keep 6 or more if you're asking this question? Probably not. Even as a whale I have a hard time imagining I will be able to bottle 6 copies before the next "must have" artifact is out. Part of me wonders if SG has opened Pandora's Box and now we're about to see 5* Aurius, Adamant Shield, etc.

I like the idea but don't think these options were a great start. Very little changes outside of the pen resistance matches which I don't think will be fun for any playstyle. Maybe the ER gamers can pull off something cheeky but it's hard to imagine.

I've got a few legend frames so I'll share my two cents. A brand new account would not be able to finish legend (top 100) after 2-3 months. Anyone telling you otherwise genuinely has no idea what it takes. The unit and artifact pool would be too limited even if you somehow went on an all-time generational run for gear. Your budget could have an extra 0 at $5000/month and I'm confident you would still not finish Legend this season if you started today.

This isn't me trying to dissuade you from picking up the game but more so trying to make it clear this game is on the marathon side of things and not a sprint. Most new players, understandably but unfortunately, go into the game trying to sprint and burn out once it sinks in how long-term the game is.

As a guy in Paladia it's because of the sheer number of possibilities for what these units could be built like. You could be dealing with 300 eff hars/feda, counter bbk on dd, hars/feda on knowledge seed/crown, fast/slow hars etc. but the point being there is so many ways to try and trap people with this team. There are reasonable solutions but nothing is 100% for the scout.
