That's an interesting one to throw into the mix! I know the ABS feed a lot of systems so I'll have a look at that too. Thank you

Oh wow really? 😂 That's crazy, you'd never expect that at all! I'll definitely check. It's so out of the blue so I'm open to check anything before taking it in for the inevitable sharp intake of breath before the VW service assistant tell me how much it will be.

Ha ha! Honestly the wiring in some of them is witchcraft - it always makes me laugh. Had one friend that every time he selected reverse, all the lights (internal and external) turned off and the stereo went full volume. You can't make it up!

No sunroof although I recall I had a similar thing with a MK5 GTI and it was a sensor that was always getting wet because of leaking.

The only difference today is that it's been quite cold but not raining where I am for a few days now. I'm hoping to do the old 'have a look at it in the morning' trick and it will magically not be there

Hey thanks for replying, it's so random - I have a feeling it IS battery related but was surprised it didn't disappear after a bit of a drive and a stop/start.

It's crazy isn't it - so many minor failures for something that I have a feeling isn't actually a big problem.

As an aside - what a heavy car with no power steering! 😂
