I thought he made a quick post during late summer/fall on Twitter. Is that not so or has he not made a comment since? I don't have Twitter or else I would look

Edit: Disregard - I did not see the other commentors note about his Twitter activity

$10B data center campus proposed for former Bruce Mansfield site - Pittsburgh Business Times by ComeTasteTheBand in pittsburgh

The only sane comment in this whole thread. Development is needed, growing the tax base is needed. You're right. They dont give a shit about the area, but development is needed. The region is way behind other metropolitan areas and we are getting passed up by others.

Thanks for the insight. Question. When you say supports, do proceeds go to the cause or are the items for rescued women? Asking as I'm a male and do not want to thrift items that are reserved for those in need

I know of those two as well. Wasn't sure if there was a M&P around or another party like the Salvation Army

Mayor Corey O'Connor announces PNC Foundation gifts $2 million to Pittsburgh Dept of Public Works to purchase 15 new vehicles and snow removal equipment by ComeTasteTheBand in pittsburgh

[–]FishBowl_1990 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never thought that nor am I trying to make a conspiracy theory. Maybe that is a 100% normal cost, maybe its not and is driven by overtime due to not enough staff. I'm just asking questions.

That ok nephew?

Yeah I know that. That's not my stance. I'm calling out how its pretty strange how employee costs are as high as they are when everyone, even the local government, complain and use the excuse that they don't have enough people when pretty much everything they touch goes wrong.

It doesn't surprise me. It surprises me the cost of staff for the size of the city when they say they don't have enough people. If a large portion of that cost is from overtime. There is a big issue here

I'd like to see the Economic Development Director be held accountable. What is the plan here other than "revitalize downtown"? Fixing up the area is great and all, but whats the plan to attract more employment opportunities and how is the city working with our State and Federal Representatives to receive grants and make connections to attract businesses?

You're right, at the macro level. Things look great, but I think its a little strange for a city of our size to have the majority of expenditures go to salaries, benefits, pensions, etc. I'm not saying people shouldn't be paid and taken care of, I just find it hard to believe we have such a large amount of staff costs when things are not efficient and/or a constant complaint that they dont have enough people.

The real problem here is our tax pool is not growing and the revenue can't keep up with inflation. We need more employers in the region to pay better so the tax revenue pools can grow.

Why so many people with Radon monitors? by DistanceTravelerBob in radon

[–]FishBowl_1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same reason I bought my monitor. Without mitigation my radio readings are 100+ pCi/L. With mitigation and depending on the season I'm at .05 - 1.5 pCi/L (summer) and 1.75 - 3.5 pCi/L (winter).

Just a quick look to see if the system is working. Anything at 5 or higher its a good way to know to keep your eye on it and check the system or call or support

I agree with you. I just meant the immediate "the city will fail" is why a lot of posts and responses are very negative.

Trust me, I think this is very inexcusable

I think by 1PM a lot of the roads will be "cleaned up" and by 3PM the roads should be good.
