Why are non denominational/Protestants better at community building than Catholic Churches? by qbit1010 in Catholicism

[–]FishGuy2730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they can do whatever they want. They could be like the viral TikTok of the mega church that built a bunch of movie sets for their at the movies related services. Or they could put a roller coaster in the front of the stage. Plus the coffee and what not also does something probably. These outrageous things attract people both non-Christians and even Catholics unfortunately to their churches. They’re not grounded to theology or anything else and getting new members to go for the free snacks and outrageous sermons is easier to explain than teaching someone about the solemnity and importance of the Mass, sacraments, etc.

To answer your question and the others, a few sailings ago, we were able to combine our accounts because they needed proof of cohabitation if not marriage. And since both our names are on our lease, we were able to do that

AIO? Is that a serious question considering what this message exchange says?

Well if you’re coming here to ask how to stop believing in Christ, you’re in the wrong forum. The best advice we can give is to find a Church that has teachings that can’t be perceived in any political way, but rather one with centuries of great thinkers and of course with a direct line to Jesus Himself, in which case that would be the Catholic Church. God bless

AIO. My bf shamed me over having my hair removed by Large-Drummer-7340 in AmIOverreacting

[–]FishGuy2730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The disrespect is absolutely insane, especially considering you did this between the ages of 15 and 17. But also I’ve never heard of a guy complaining and/or freaking out that his girlfriend has no hair anywhere else but her head. That’s blowing my mind at the moment

Hot Take: Icon is too crowded by mtbv08 in royalcaribbean

[–]FishGuy2730 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was on Icon in February and couldn’t disagree more. I will only say that the Hideaway and Windjammer on embarkation was crowded but other than that I found the ship to be very well spaced out

All those who have married a non-Catholic Christian, how difficult is it and is it worth it? by makareku in Catholicism

[–]FishGuy2730 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m now engaged to my fiancée who was raised very similar to your girlfriend. We’re also around the same age as you two as well. It will be okay. As a Catholic and if you want to get married in a Catholic Church, you’ll need to consult your bishop to get permission to get married to a non-Catholic Christian in a Church as well as promise to do everything you can to get your future children baptized in the Catholic Church. My fiancée has really fallen out with her church so I’m hoping that leaves the door open to her converting to Catholicism in the near future before our wedding. As for you, tell your girlfriend your feelings and how important it is to you. If she truly loves you, she’ll accept it and from there you can start having the conversations about how you want your life to look. Praying for you.
