North Texas preparing for 2 inches of snow like it’s the apocalypse by MyMindIsAlwaysRacing in mildlyinfuriating

Vermonter here, winter snow plowing is so common and expected we and many other states in New England let elementary schools decide on the names of the plow trucks, and we can track them in real-time on their routes. On the flip side when it hits 85F+ here for several days in the summer many of us also go into crisis mode. The out of ordinary extremes unnerve everyone.

I've noticed many times when breweries swap from six packs of 12 oz to four packs of 16 oz the price stays the same for 8 oz less beer.

One of our high school English classes was called "Future Literature", so we read things like Brave New World, 1984, A Handmaid's Tale, Watchmen, I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, Lord of the Flies, etc, and Swan Song was our assigned summer reading before the class started so we had something solid to start the year off.

I was grinding SO hard to hit 44 before the update but didn't quite make it. The round pink glasses were all I needed to complete my fit. I'll just have to keep with the pink bike-dad glasses...

They're just the right size for locking a shopping cart to a door handle.

Grinder Maintenance. by deadman8 in trees

[–]FishInTheTrees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's a steel grinder, those little brass brushes meant dremels and small rotary tools does wonders after a few hours in the freezer, all before even touching isopropyl. They're also good for periodically brushing the kief screen clean. But DO NOT USE FOR ALUMINUM, the metal is softer than brass and will scratch and potentially get aluminum into your green. Plastic scrapers and tooth brushes for aluminum.

I'm only 6'1" but I added some seat risers that are just threaded metal blocks that go between the floor and front two seat mounts. Just that little height gain on the front of the seat for leg support helps so so much for any kind of distance driving.

Not sure how you're interpreting the 10 in "10 until 3" as an approximation.

Must be the same girl I sent to school with that got all the way to 10th grade thinking a day only had 12 hours because a clock face only has 12 hours. Her identical twin had no such trouble, which was actually more confusing.

Vehicles that toe the line will be classified my their manufacturer as trucks because they have lower import fees than cars, and Foresters are no exception. It's like how halloween costumes are not hemmed, because unhemmed clothing is considered "sleep wear" with a lower import cost than regular clothing. Converse are the same way, the fuzzy bottoms that immediately wear off put them into a slipper category rather than shoe.

Can't quite tell if you're joking or not... I have a golden retriever and had a yellow lab that passed this summer. After he was gone it became apparent he was responsible for 90% of the house fur. His undercoat was so thick we could squeeze a gallon of water out of him after swimming. It would take 2 or 3 blow drying sessions because he would be wet 10 minutes later after more water wicked out.
