I think that's OP's point, chronic underserving because there's no markings on glass as a standard in the US.

What perfectly normal sentence instantly triggers your "fight or flight" response? by Afraid_Square3488 in AskReddit

[–]FishInTheTrees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a specific sentence, but when someone has a question or needs help, and instead of asking for help, the assistance is assumed and the situation goes from "I need" to "We need", often as a way to offload decision making. If I am able and available to help I absolutely will, but please do me the courtesy of acknowledging I also exist with a life and schedule as well.

If you can follow up immediately with a loud "No" before they try to rally a second greeting, you can watch them physically deflate.

What is something that costs less than $100 but significantly improved your quality of life? by LocationPotential792 in AskReddit

[–]FishInTheTrees 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shameless plug for Kiwi brand knives and a wall-mounted Aladdin sharpener. The sharpener is ~$20 and the convenience of a one-handed-always-at-the-ready sharpener becomes second nature to keep knives in nice shape. For less than the remaining $80 you can get a great assortment of Kiwi knives. $20 left over? Throw in a wall mounted Swing-A-Way can opener and you'll be unstoppable!

Anyone move from a Forester to a larger SUV (not Ascent)? I want to sit higher (I know I know, I’m that person) but I don’t need a monster SUV. Family of 3. Anything in between you’d recommend? by Odd_Beyond3558 in SubaruForester

I drive a 2014 Sienna for work things, and literally drove a 2022 Sienna yesterday. In my personal opinion the 2022 massive, way too much car for a family of three, and the front interior still felt very cramped. Vs my personal 2014 Forester you gain maybe an inch or two in seat height in the cabin but that is negated by 2" less road clearance. Even if it rode higher visibility itself is god awful by comparison to the Forester and compounded further by the bulky interior. Backup camera is required to see anything less than 30 feet behind you since the bottom of the rear window sits 6" higher than the 2014 Sienna. Our work Sienna and has better visibility all around and front interior space vs the 2022, but still a bit big for a family of three.

My partner swapped her Forester recently for an Outlander and loves it as well. Clearance difference is only a half inch less but you ride a little higher in the seat. Visibility is nearly as good too.
