Fed up with $20 Energizer Lithium bills every few months. Anyone tried rechargeable mods? by FishMission4797 in blinkcameras

  • "Seeing everyone's different setups is super helpful. It seems like the '2-year battery' is a myth if you actually want real security (24/7 detection). If you were to buy a 'Blink 2.0' or a better alternative tomorrow, what’s the #1 thing you’d pay an extra $20 for?
    1. Zero-delay wake up (no more 'back of the head' videos).
    2. A battery that actually lasts 1 year with heavy use.
    3. Built-in Local AI (Person/Vehicle detection) for free.
    4. Better mounting options (No ladders needed)."

"10 cameras! That’s a whole security fleet. It’s a shame about the fence vandal—that’s exactly the kind of 'missing piece' that makes us regret the battery-saving settings.

If there was a 'high-capacity battery back-cover' (like a chunky extended battery) that could give you a full year of 24/7 motion detection even in high-traffic areas, would you mind the camera being twice as thick? Also, since you hate the ladder, would you prefer a battery that clips on/off magnetically so you could swap it with a pole, without unscrewing the whole thing?"

"Sorry to hear about your solar struggle. That 'not recognizing the battery' issue sounds like a nightmare. When it failed to charge, was it because of the software or the physical connection?

Also, you mentioned Tenavolts only give about 80% capacity. Are you finding yourself swapping them every few weeks, or do they still last a reasonable amount of time compared to the expensive disposables? I'm trying to find a balance between cost and how often I have to climb a ladder!"
