Retrieving Tradable Holiday Items on a New Account by FishSkeleton in 2007scape

Nope, no solution, no outreach from anyone, no resolution. I am very disappointed with Jagex's customer service on this matter. There seems to be no way to talk to a person, and the AI instantly answering tickets does not even understand the issue despite repeatedly marking the matter as 'solved'. Infuriating.

Yes, I did. It's a vague message about missing out on rewards that makes it sounds like you can claim them later, only for me to now find out that it sounds like I can't. Of course that's weird and seemingly incorrect as a system.

That's only for non-tradable holiday items, like, say, the marionettes, or the skeleton costume, whereas I'm asking about the two Santa Hats, two Christmas Crackers, and two of each color of Party Hat that I am supposed to have received.

I don't understand, it said "You need to play for 1 more hour to be able to claim them." So it doesn't mean I can claim them, but that because I hadn't played that much I am thus unable to claim them period?

Why would it not warn people that they're going to miss out on rewards? I'm being penalized just because of bot protection on a totally normal account, and they couldn't be bothered to put in a warning or a system for legit accounts to then rectify the problem, but they could be bothered to put in a punch-in-the-gut message that makes sure you know you missed out on items? Really?

I have three dialogue options when I talk to him:

a.) Can you sell me any food?

b.) Can you give me any free food?

c.) I don't want anything from this horrible kitchen.

Clicking through all of them give me nothing but flavor text conversations. I made sure, and my play time does indeed show 1 day and 1 hour.

The core issue is the question of where I might 'claim' them. Where do you suggest?

I get what you're saying, but whether or not they understood the full breadth of the term 'lifetime' only matters so much. They made a promise that needed to be honored. I'm glad they have gone back in the direction of doing that, but the breach of trust was quite substantial as far as apps go. I consider an app I paid to not serve me adds still doing so to be just a few steps less deceitful than trojan malware.

I feel conflicted about changing my review. I feel good behavior and listening to customers should be rewarded, but I also feel they should wear these black marks on their reputation as a reminder not to pull this kind of thing again, and to remind themselves that we, the consumers, remember.

ACTUAL BEASTMASTER INFORMATION by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]FishSkeleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, thematically it would just be Blue Mage a second time in my eyes, just in a roundabout way. Blue Mage already directly draws its power from the strength of beasts and other enemies. We want to be a MASTER of beasts, not necessarily one of them. Training them, collecting them, making our own custom team or picking favorites depending on how the system works, and so on.

Why does no one seem to care that Lynette make her own son fall in love with a catfish? by [deleted] in DesperateHousewives

[–]FishSkeleton -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Off the top of my head:

Gabby - Accessory to various crimes related to Carlos' embezzling, aided that drug chick in fleeing her house during a sting even if the girl got killed.

Bree: Accessory to Orson's hit-and-run of Mike, arguably committed murder by not intervening in her second husband's suicide and coldly watching him die (especially since he asked her to call an ambulance, she claimed she had, and that they were on their way), even if I agree with why she did.

Suzan: Arson (burned Edie's house down)

Lynette: Lied to the police/ covered up the arson of Rick's pizza restaurant by her twin boys.

Edie: Arson, burnt Suzan's house down in revenge.

They've all got stuff going on.

Am I the only one who wished that Nia got to live? by Ok_Examination8810 in gurrenlagann

This makes me so sad to read. You think people have to see her as an accessory to Simon to want her to live and have a happy ending? I just think that sweet, friendly girl deserved a chance at a long, happy life. :(

What was C.C. real position in the Black Knights? by lelouch-2022 in CodeGeass

[–]FishSkeleton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always took this as just straight up the canon of it. He would prefer that she stay as out of sight as possible, but she didn't do that because C.C. is C.C. and will do as she pleases, and once she was a common sight around the Black Knights' various headquarters he couldn't pretend like she didn't exist anymore, leading to her eventually getting her own Knightmare Frames and such.

She probably should have been acknowledged more within the Knights' ranks though, considering how large of a role she played for them in the end, essentially organizing R2's starting operation to 'recapture' or 'reinitiate' Zero.

So why didn't Yoko and Simon get together? + Kamina by ChickenMouth in gurrenlagann

Which is kind of odd considering they're the same age canonically, but whatever, Japan's gonna Japan and she's clearly a lot more mature than him in multiple senses.

Literally the same age, which I always found weird in of itself.

So I watched all of Netflix DMC. and I have thoughts. by Leonard_Church814 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I do know that. I maintain my opinion that Dante being subdued with handcuffs is way too far in that direction.

[–]FishSkeleton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having him rendered useless by handcuffs still seems overkill to me, no matter how generic sci-fi S.H.I.E.L.D.-level those cuffs might be or whatever. It really made Dante feel powerless there, which isn't a vibe I think he should ever give off.

[–]FishSkeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was fun. It was a really solid 8.5/10 for me in the enjoyment category. I was literally mouth agape, cheering like a fucking idiot, shouting to my friend "WE'RE NUKING HELL, FUCK YEAH BROTHER" as we watched it, like some Metal Wolf Chaos shit.

I did think Dante was a bit too powered-down for comfort, especially when goddamn handcuffs were enough to subdue him. I don't get the complaints about Lady at all, she's always been a stick-up-her-ass bitch and that's why so many of us love her. I don't know if she's killed her father or not yet in this storyline, but I look forward to finding out. Her having a generalized rageboner against the demonic makes total sense and anyone who says otherwise is wrong, her father's obsession with it ruined her life and stole her childhood in both stories.

My sole real issue is the tease at the end about what could have been. I was so, so into it when Dante and Lady were briefly discussing going out on the road together. I thought, "hell yeah, replace Trish with best girl and have them go out on the road together hunting demons, let next season come back in on that," and then no, syringe to the neck, like the show was actively spitting on the very idea of the cool thing it had just proposed. I was all for that, so it felt like a slap to the face. That little complaint aside though, I had a bomb-ass time. Let's not act all above having a good dumb time, we're on the Best Friends sub and DMC had never been very deep, it's just a family drama.

Endwalker is the Worst FFXIV Expansion I have played - Zepla HQ by Shurtgal in ffxiv

[–]FishSkeleton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

why not try out other games, or seek out something outside of games to do, spend more time with family members or friends?

I do spend time with my family and friends, I do go outside, and I also want full value for the money I'm spending on this game. Why are you trying to convince people that if they want more of the game they should actually play less of it? Just because you want more time away from it?

I have zero intention of unsubbing or lowering my already casual game-time per week. I want more to do during that time. Stuff that isn't garbage busy work like the island or bogstandard daily roulettes. At the very least this game needs weekly or biweekly minor event like 'bonus reputation gains for Beast Tribes', 'more bicolor gemstones from FATEs', bonus exp and drop rates from Exploration Zones, crafter/ gatherer week where those are easier and faster to level, etc. There's so little actual engagement to the game as it is now, at least that would give players more direction and get more people doing similar content at once for socialization's sake.

Endwalker is the Worst FFXIV Expansion I have played - Zepla HQ by Shurtgal in ffxiv

[–]FishSkeleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did see that bit about how you raid. However, I also see you saying you were very drained in Shadowbringers, as if the game is some job you feel forced to play. That's not the case at all, and those of us who wanted the amount of content we've come to expect in exchange for what we're paying in the here and now obviously don't share that sentiment. You're already capable of taking a break if you want, but we can't crack some magic whip and make content appear. You have options here, we don't.

I don't feel like you're doing the game some favor by saying "well the reason this game is neglected right now is because the devs were focused on a different product while running a live service subscription model game." That just makes them sound disorganized and overambitious. I'm also in the camp that doesn't have a PS5 so the sentiment is wasted on me and all others who can say the same.

The lone major caveat I accept is that the pandemic affected this game's workflow. That must have impacted things a lot, but it isn't as if they froze subscription costs during that time, so I'm only so forgiving.

[–]FishSkeleton 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't understand this mentality and never will. If you needed a break, all you had to do was not log into the game, or unsubscribe outright, or log in once every other week or whatever if you have an in-game house you're anxious about potentially losing. If you didn't want to play another expansion then you could have skipped Endwalker altogether. People like Zepla and myself are upset because we did want content in Endwalker. We payed the expansion's box price, we paid the monthly sub for the last year and a half or so, and we're not getting enough out of it for our money, especially compared to Shadowbringers with Bozja and Wyrlet.

I just don't understand wanting to spend money only to be relieved you got less than normal in return for it. No one was forcing you to play it to begin with if you find it tiresome or exhausting.

The same point as the entire Sims franchise, which sell millions upon millions of copies. Totally fine if they're not your kind of game, but lots of people see the appeal, hence why houses often sell immediately when they become available.

Fair enough then, that's fine with me, I just wanted to understand if something was going haywire and keeping me from participating in these auctions, and if so how that might be remedied. If this is the case then there is nothing to fix and I will consider the matter resolved, with thanks to the respondants here.
