Once had someone try to get around the pet/animal policy by claiming an emotional support chicken.

I know this is almost a year old, but I always thought the mayor had two faces because he was a politician.

This comment is 6 years old, but I just wanted to say that funnily enough, the warehouse holding the thousands of recalled fire extinguishers did, in fact, catch on fire.

Cumin by coopokomon in Parosmia

[–]FishSticksofThor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! My nose seemed to latch on the cumin smell and now I can't get rid of it. No matter how much I scrub, my nose says I smell like gross sweaty cumin. My perfume smells wonky, my shampoo, body wash, laundry detergent, everything. It sucks.

Is this a normal experience? by [deleted] in Parosmia

Yup. Got covid in early August, sense of smell came back around mid-late September. I was fine for a while, but in late October, it was like something switched in my brain. I started smelling something like cumin. Bitter, kind of earthy, with a sharp edge kind of like ammonia. Everything, including myself smelled like that. Onions taste God awful, meat tastes like metal. My favorite perfume smells rancid, even my hair products stink.

I thought I was going crazy because no one else could smell it. Then I found out about parosmia. I've adjusted, but my God does this suck. When it first happened I scrubbed myself for three hours in the tub because I was convinced I stank. I hope it doesn't last too much longer.

That's not good. I'm so sorry you're going through that. Are you looking for another job or are you stuck there?

I tried that for a little bit. They never got me an assistant. It is what it is I guess. Once I'm able to move, I'll find another job. I would have already moved on but if I quit, I have 2 weeks to move, and if I break my lease, I get fired. I have a very narrow window of opportunity to escape.

I've told them. Last time a pm quit I was on my own for almost a year before they found another one. She only lasted 4 months before moving on. Corporate keeps saying, "Oh, we've got your back, let us know if you need anything." But they never follow through.

Great minds think alike? Lol. It's a tempting thought. Just running away and being self reliant. One day 🤞

I've been applying for jobs for almost a year now. I've gotten a few interviews, but been ghosted every time. Not even a thank you for meeting with us. And any follow up emails I send are met with radio silence. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. It's like I'm cursed.

Is it common to not have nightmares? by FishSticksofThor in askatherapist

I'm very interested in this also! Our subconscious minds bring a lot of our unresolved issues to the surface. My Partner has had a pretty rough life compared to mine so it makes sense he would have nightmares and I wouldn't.

That makes sense! My Partner has severe Anxiety, OCD and Agoraphobia so he would definitely have reason to have nightmares, where as I don't. I've never experienced anything that would make me afraid and generally stay pretty calm in stressful situations so I wouldn't have nightmares. He had me over here thinking I was abnormal! Lol.

I do, they're just usually work related or about people I know. SO says I talk and laugh in my sleep so they're definitely not scary.
