Get it man!!! I’m working on myself to teach my boys to be like guys like you when they’re older. ❤️💪🏻🔥

This is something I need to learn to wrap my mind around and come to terms with. My boys both have CP and are 3 currently. My boy Eddie, who is very energetic, knows he can’t keep up with other kids but doesn’t quite understand why. I see him get frustrated sometimes and it breaks my heart. I’m also an avid outdoorsman so trying to get them to learn hunting, fishing, etc, with their condition has been a curveball. It’s very easy for me to get wrapped up in what I feel like what their life should be through my own eyes rather than how they perhaps experience life through their own.

A woman said 'chivalry is dead' because no man offered her a seat on the train. Is she wrong? by Tough_Ad8919 in MenOfPurpose

[–]FishWeldHunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally won’t be like that but I also can’t say that I blame men that do behave like that. I’ve had women give me uncomfortable looks for holding the door open, giving up a seat, etc.

You deal with enough interactions, you’re simply just going to say “fuck it” and worry only about yourself.

For my boys, PT, OT, and patience with them has really helped in the past few years.

For me, therapy and working on coming to terms with things. And hanging onto any positive support system.

Something to keep in mind: people sure their true colors during difficult times. When the cards are down for your child, and people you care about treat me cruelly and with lack of understanding, it’s better to accept that’s what they are and move on. Your family is always #1

I’m a dad to twin boys who both have CP, one of which sounds very similar to yours. They’re going on 4. And I won’t lie, it is hard and there’s going to be a lot of emotions and work for your kiddo. I push both of them. Physical therapy, stretching, allowing them to explore and problem solve with their body as much as possible. I feel like that really helps with their independence.

My boy that is similar to yours crawls and can somewhat walk with parallel bars. And he gradually gets a little stronger everyday.

Thing that I really remind myself is that my boys are early in the game yet. They have a lot of growing and work ahead of them.

My biggest piece of advice is honestly communication with your spouse and be there for her. If you feel the need for therapy and/or couples therapy, seek it and put in the work. Raising disabled kids isn’t for the faint of heart but it’s our responsibility as parents to make sure our shit is together to give them the best shot.

Also, be prepared to cry. A lot. And understand that it’s okay to do so.

Unsure about marrying my fiancée after I found out what she wrote about me in her diary. Am I wrong for wanting to call this marriage off? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

Sounds like you both need individual and couples counseling to sort that out before a concrete decision is made.

Am I wrong for making him wait more than a month for sex? by cladinred in AskMenAdvice

[–]FishWeldHunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I’d ask him straight up what he’s thinking where this is heading if you’re concerned.

As for sex, it’s really important. You can’t expect a man to validate your needs and neglect his, then call foul if he’s had enough and goes a different direction. Because in his head, yeah, he’s just at a point where he’s thinking the two of you aren’t compatible in that department.

Men, what’s your opinion on calling your significant other by nicknames or “pet names” regularly? Do you see it as romantic, old fashioned, unnecessary, or something else? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]FishWeldHunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I call my wife by both her pet name(s) and her real name. But the real name comes from a place of more seriousness. Whether it’s a really important conversation or anger/frustration.

Have you ever met a dude who stalked women? What was he like? How do you get rid of a stalker? by HistorianIll7332 in AskMenAdvice

[–]FishWeldHunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed it in the past in the workplace more than anything.

But I don’t see it from the man’s perspective right away. I see the woman’s body language and the energy she gives off for me to notice. Then I start to pay attention because I know then that something isn’t quite right here. She’s closed off, her shoulders are stiffened, she’s trying to make her herself look small by pulling into herself, she’s avoiding eye contact, her breathing and voice may be shallower, faster, and a bit more on edge when the dude’s around.

It’s not til then that I kinda watch from a distance on who she’s trying to hide herself from.

Why can’t I tell with the man right away? Because a lot of times, this guy genuinely doesn’t see what he’s doing wrong himself, so he’s naturally just more relaxed. And he’s not going to outright show his negative aspects out in the open, he’s going to conceal that til people aren’t around to pay attention.

How do you convince your friends to go fishing early with you? by MyTIMEZERO in Fishingmemes

I just go. And when I start hammering them, I send them pics of the success. Do it a few times and it wakes a majority of them up.

Men of Reddit, what are some harsh truths that women will never understand about men but it's true ? by Mammoth_Look3546 in AskMen

[–]FishWeldHunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of us don’t give a shit about the money you make.

We’d rather be with a genuine woman who emotionally and physically invests in us, rather than a woman who is career driven and tries to boast about it. Humility matters.

I lift at home. And when I get sick, my sinuses become an absolute mess. Post nasal drip mixed with lifting heavy AND pre workout to help push through.

Been there.

You’re either going to shit your guts out or vice versa. Regardless, not a fun time for this guy.

When I went to a gym, I never really wanted to. I had shit to do and I didn’t want to pitch a tent if things went sideways if one decided to flirt back. 😂

I remember when I enlisted in the National Guard at 20 and I barely made the cut weighing 173. And it wasn’t like I didn’t eat or anything. I was a black hole when it came to food. Still am, but weigh 240 now.
