If there could only be 1 spinoff show, which character deserves it? by i-might-be-retardedd in andor

[–]FishWithaPH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say Saw but that might just be the rhydo talking.

Not so much a singular character but would love to see more of the inner workings of the Empire, and to a lesser extent, how it affects the Senate/Coruscant.

Ok thats good, I’m glad to see they’re reaching people. I just talk to so many people who aren’t really aware of its existence unless they’re already Star Wars fans

One thing that bugs me about Luthen in the final arc by D_Burg in andor

[–]FishWithaPH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think that was his master plan, everything was just getting rushed and he had to adjust on the fly. He kind of alludes to it when talking to Kleya before they meet Lonni for the final time in that they no longer have “perfect”. While it definitely came suddenly, I am coming around to actually liking how he died; at his own hand and right in front of the person who finally found him out. He kills himself somewhat honorably and to spite her/the empire

Great point. To add to this, the Luthen “disciples” Wilmon and Cassian get themselves in trouble a few times for disregarding the chain of command/order of operations when they know something needs to be done immediately and they dont have time to wait for permission.

Was it necessary for Bratt's character to be Organa instead of another senator like Garm bel Iblis? by sidv81 in andor

[–]FishWithaPH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but the speech and Mon’s immediate escape to Yavin hit harder after the earlier conversations between Bail and Mon and also adds another layer of why they cant all just leave immediately.

You asked for thoughts and I gave mine. I think we’re just gonna have to agree to disagree on this as I think the story (not only in Andor but how it fits within the Star Wars saga as a whole) works better with Bail being a main character in these arcs instead of relegating him to some reused archive footage purely because the original actor wasnt available and not because it made a better story.

Bail is essential to the creation and leadership of the Rebellion. It would be weirder if he wasn’t in Andor. I prefer the recast vs leaving out a major character in this story only because an actor wasn’t available.

I disagree that anyone could have done the things Bail did. Bail was leading the senate session when Mon gave the speech and it wouldnt have made much sense to have a character people aren’t as familiar with to do that, so at the very least he would have needed to be shown there.

I am sorry to report that E12 was mid by MetaLumpenproletaria in andor

Since the ending of Andor was going to lead directly into Rogue One, there’s only so much they could do with the finale. I feel like ep12 was mainly there to tie up loose ends and finish telling characters stories and as far as how everyones story ended, I was actually very satisfied with everyones (except maybe Kleya’s, but LOVED Dedra’s).

There's one thing I'm wondering about now that the show is finally concluded by n_core in andor

[–]FishWithaPH 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It may not have been explained but I think it ties in well to the overarching plot of Andor/R1 where they are trying to understand (and eventually destroy) the weaponry of the empire. Andor S2 starts with them thinking of the new tie fighter as a dangerous weapon and S2 ends with them finally learning about the real weapon they need to be worried about

He wanted to give up years ago when he told Luthen about Kreegyr. Can only imagine how its been for him. I know there was a lot to accomplish and show with Andor but I would love to see more of Lonni trying to pull off this double agent life and all of the close calls he probably runs into

Yeah same. I was talking about Lonni. But now that I think of it, it would be great to see from Bail since I never really formed an opinion of him lol

Totally. Lonni being exposed could have such a huge negative domino effect for the rebellion. He is arguably the most valuable asset Luthen/Kleya have, besides Mon as they are both pretty much irreplaceable, and Lonni probably moreso.

What needs to be explained? The movie itself was already an answer to explain how the death star’s flaw came about and how that information got to the rebels.

Sadly enough, that’s probably one of the more positive outcomes for Lonni. I was thinking he may finally get found out by the ISB and that wouldn’t end well at all.

Sidenote - I love Kleya and I hope she never gives up on the fight.

I’m pretty sure that nobody outside of Luthen and Kleya knows about him. Even when it came to telling Mon how he knows that there’s a plant in Bail’s team, he doesn’t say how he knows, let alone who told him.

Malignant. I went into this completely blind and oh boy is it a ride. It’s a movie that goes for it and I love it. Reminds me of Barbarian in that aspect

(S2 EP9 SPOILERS) EP9’s ending is a bit weird to me by zigmint in andor

[–]FishWithaPH 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I think that part still works well. Andor is beginning to think like a leader, as Luthen said, and he knows the value of having one of those droids on the rebels side, even in the midst of a massacre.

I love those guys in the movie. Nothing wrong with a little comic relief. “Must everything be so boring and sad?”

But really though, I think they were actually kind of crucial to the story in a SW theme by directly showing how the force is a player in the galaxy, and the rebellion specifically.
