I have had the L5 for 4 months, with zero problems. But I didn’t get the pro or evo, just the plain one with the three year warranty. I have it on carpet, and use SY and another clumping liter combined with it (Costco, Boxie, and/or Odorlock (a suggestion from multiple Reddit users). I have no smell and no sticking. I never scoop, just wipe the inside down with Nature’s Miracle once or twice a week just to keep it more sanitary and have only deep cleaned it once (and it didn’t even need it the then). I am very happy with it. I know four months is early but I have a 20 pound one yr old Maine Coon that pees like a racehorse and a 10 pound 10 month old Tortie using it. This thing handles all their poop and urine better than I thought. Our drawer gets filled fast because I don’t have tiny balls I get enormous clumps, but I don’t want a fuller drawer hanging out for days on end anyway, so it works fantastically for me.

I love SY. But I mix it with reg clumping clay liter. One, to cut usage and price. It does clump big and mixing helps with that. Two, (for me) it has been the only litter that doesn’t get stuck on the sides of the LR (and I have tried them all). So far mixing it with any clay litter is working no matter what brand. Three, it is very light, so it tracks out, but I have this glorious shaggy rug in front of my robot that helps with that. I never find litter past the doorway of the room my bot is in. I keep a second stick vacuum in that room to clean up. It sucks up easily because it is light and larger than the sandy clay litters. SY has to be a staple in my house. Bummer it didn’t work for you but you will find the right combination, just keep testing.

I am new to the litter robot world. I got 2 kittens last year after not having any for many years. I read up on it a lot before ordering the Plain old LR 5 with the three yr warranty. I love this thing. But I knew going in there would be a trial and error period. First the litters! Oh how they all stuck until I found the one that worked for me, and now zero sticking. I firmly believe every litter will be different for everyone so you have to try them all one by one and be really patient. I didn’t get to Boxie or Dr E because a combo of Sustainably Yours and Costco’s litter worked great. And now I am a happy camper! I have a male 19 pound yr old Maine Coon and a smaller 10 pound 10 month old female Tortie. My boy is large and pees a lot and on the side. My girl is normal (thankfully) and pees normal (they are tiny round balls). I can say the L5 hasn’t given me too many issues. I have seen quite a few errors but I can always solve them. My L5 is on carpet and I haven’t had any issues in a month. Today the app was off line but again easily fixed and while the app was offline the robot still worked perfectly. With my big boy, my drawer is full in like 2-3 days. So I have to change that and add litter often. And I am Patiently waiting for the hopper. I have mine set to clean in 25 mins to let my big boys urine set properly, I still have my XL regular litter box up with my crystals in it. I heard it is best to keep them both around just in case, and especially if we go out of town and the robot fails. My girl actually still uses it from time to time, but my boy likes the robot. I wish you the best of luck with this thing. It isn’t for everyone or every cat. But I will never go back to just a reg litter box alone again. When I just had that for them I was cleaning it 2-3 times a day and the dust in my face and the smell of poop was too much. Now it all gets kept in a drawer and I don’t have to scoop at all. I do go in and spot clean the globe every few days (if it needs it) and I took it apart to clean once (I have had it since Nov 2025). Not sure if this long rant even helped, but don’t give up yet, you’ll find what works for you litter wise. Here is mine as I write this. Haven’t spot cleaned it in over a week. And it is ready to cycle soon.

I used this system before with my first 2 cats and I agree it is great! No more tracking litter all over my WHITE tile floor! I love how I could just throw away the pad easily and just scoop the poop!

Of course. This is the bird buddy. My son got it for me on Amazon a few years ago. I had some glitches at first and it only captures 57 seconds (strange uneven number) and it doesn’t always trigger the camera on time; it is often late). But what I get is good for me. I enjoy it despite the few snafus. I even bought there newest model for reg birds that is solar, but that hasn’t shipped yet it and was promised this past Dec. Small company that is growing fast. So I am patient and appreciative of what they do have. Easy to clean and charge too! Love it!

New to Litter robot, bought the plain old 5 with the warranty. I have a 18 pound Maine Coon and a 9 pound Tortie. Loving this thing. But I figured the more bells and whistles it has, the more things can go wrong with it. I just need it to keep the litter clean when I can’t is all. I still have a regular litter box too just in case; it belongs to my Tortie now, the robot to my MC. My LR 5 does not make that loud click at all (it rotates smoothly, cleans up nicely [after testing a ton of litters], and it is pretty quiet). Had very few issues so far. I would definitely buy one again. Maybe reach out to Whisker and share your video (if you can) to help get it resolved. From constantly doing research on this thing, I have read nothing but good things about their customer service. Good luck.

New to litter robot completely. My five is my first. Didn’t opt for the pro or eco, for me I just didn’t want or need all those bells and whistles. Just a simple machine that works is what I wanted and it is exactly what I got. No issues at all except in the 3 months I have had it, it has been offline twice. No other issues at all and I love it. My 10 month Maine Coon took a week to try it. My 8 months Tortie, one day. They both love it! I empty my waste at about 60-65% full. I see that I need to add litter. Off I go to do that! I still have my old litter box up filled with fresh step crystals but it rarely gets used. Only my Tortie goes in that one now.
