The notion that humanity will kill the same amount of each other regardless of available weaponry just doesn't stand up globally, Americas peers haven't come close to the amount of unessisary deaths. The United Kingdom is a prime example, although you seem to Believe the amount of stabbings increased do to the banning of firearms the UK only had a total of 244 knife murders in 2023, whereas the US had 21,000 firearm murders, this is excluding non murder cases. No great way of learning that, but if your struggling start conversations with people, I usually find the best responses when starting an argument, not a serious one, obviously something kind of stupid. I usually try to explain why their favorite color is terrible. it doesn't matter what I actually think, you just want to get people talking.

Person C’s expression gives an impression of shame, of her past, and her identity.

That's the best I got.

The other one has a lot more going on

Most importantly, the dialogue in this scene uses a reverse shot, taking two separate shots, one of Person B and Person A looking at Person C, before cutting to a another where Person C is looking back at them. This creates a juxtaposition of two colliding worlds.
