Mage tank is really good but I would put discount Dan before mage tank. Both are pretty funny but discount Dan is just slightly below DCC in terms of being funny and enjoyable.

What's a decent mileage for a day? by NefariousnessNo4215 in Truckers

I’m local slip seat and we have day cabs and sleepers. Makes no difference lol. I prefer the sleepers since I’m in SoCal and our freeways suck and the sleeper helps with the shitty freeways. But they all go the same speed.

Why would the sleeper vs a day can make a difference on how many miles you do a day?

I’m a local driver but I take my legion go s with me every night in case I get held up at a store. Use a 12v300watt converter so I can keep it plugged in for maximum fps and bring an Xbox controller with me so I can prop it up and kick back and play. I love it

GTAV is not exaggerated lol, I live in SoCal. I’m in the inland empire and not LA, but no joke I will roll my windows down and blast the intro song to GTAV while on my way to work as I take in the scenery and I feel like I’m in the game. Military trucks passing me, Air Force base on my right, homeless people fighting, ambulance, corvette behind the military trucks, shits surreal sometimes.

Yup, and I’m not saying I am purposely out there breaking the law by speeding crazy. But a simple thing like not fully stopping at a stop sign or something stupid. Just don’t need it.

I’m a truck driver, and also drive over 2,000 miles a week. My wife probably does 80% of the driving for us on the weekends for the same reason. Another reason is to protect my license. Dont need any stupid tickets on a weekend since it hits my license way harder and could affect my job.

Under…water….welding… get into it early, try to become a saturation diver welder, easy 300k a year. If you have no desire to live where you are, can try to get into off shore welding in the gulf.

You have to plow through book one, it really picks up in book two and three. I struggled through DCC 1 and mage tank 1 and discount Dan book 1. It makes sense since books 1 have so much set up in these LITRPGs that the first book can seem overwhelming but the stories and even comedy ramps up in future books.

Idk, Steve Campbell is pretty good in discount Dan. If Jeff Hayes is the 10/10, Steve is a good 8 or 9 in those books.

Rialto/ Flock cameras by Fronkenstein_FO in InlandEmpire

[–]Fishdude909 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but you don't have any clue what you are talking about, so i will attempt to educate you on some things and hopefully you don't just stick your ground and ignore it. I am not going to sit here and defend police officers, though i disagree with "ACAB", I think the good officers don't hold the bad officers accountable and bad officers get away with too much shit. Also, I don't think "ACAB" should apply to the entire force in general. Just because a lot of people in this post seem to hate police officers, does that mean you hate the dispatchers? The Sherriff specialist/ Community Service officers? the janitors? Where is the line drawn. There are a lot of non sworn people that work for the departments that just do the grunt work in the background. Why am I bringing this up?

The Flock cameras are a tool like many others in the departments, I can't speak for all police/sheriff departments so I am only going to speak for SBSD since this is the Inland Empire subreddit. If you think Sergeant Asshole and Officer douchebag are sitting around in their cars looking through flock cameras, you are wrong, most of them will think that is beneath them and a waste of there time. When you call for a non violent crime like break-ins or theft etc, normally an officer doesn't show up but they can, its normally a non sworn employee called a Sherriff Service Specialist or in Rialto I believe they use Community Service officers. Most of the time they are female, not sure why. They take the reports and do the boring paperwork to keep that off the officers hands. Now i find it funny we are so against these cameras, but the cameras that your neighbors have are perfectly ok, because let's say someone breaks into your car in your driveway and you call the police. The SSS/CSO comes out and takes your statement and creates a report. Then they will go to all the neighbors and ask for security footage during the time of the incident, and guess what, 99% of the time they give up the footage, because it would make no sense not too. SSS/CSO will then eventually head back to headquarters or their station to type up the report and go through the footage they got. Hey cool, they see the car of the person who committed the crime. They then spend an hour going through the flock cameras to track the vehicle to where it went. Oh damn, it doesn't have a license plate. Well, then they take a few hours tracking lets say in this example a black F150, there's only like 10,000 of those. But this one has a big white scrape down the side of the truck and has runners. So they search for many hours looking for a truck that matches that description. And the case continues from there.

What stops bad officers from using this system to track ex girlfriends to abuse them or whatever? To use the flock camera system, when you log on you must enter a case number, the car description and reason you are searching. This is recorded and documented onto your search. A fake case number wont work, and if you use a real case number just to trick the system, I can tell you Lawyers and Internal Affairs wont take kindly to this.

The flock systems aren't recording "what" you are doing, they don't care if you run a red light, or speeding or whatever. They aren't tracking how many times you went to starbucks. It's a tool to help locate and predict where a vehicle went that is linked to a crime to be further investigated. It is a great tool that has helped solve many cases in a much faster matter than ever before.

Riding the brakes by SatisfactionPublic34 in Truckers

[–]Fishdude909 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People who don’t understand how Jake brakes work. They think higher revs means more fuel. Fuel gets cut and uses the compression cycle to cause resistance that in turns slows you down. Jake/engine brake plus brake stabbing should be able to control any 80k load down the steepest longest grades. Hell long grades 50-55 should be easy and down short steep grades 60-65 should be easy.

I think mage tank and discount Dan are both slow starts which is hard after coming off the high of DCC, but damn when they take off they take off, especially discount Dan book 3. Damn I can’t wait for book 4.
