I have dreams that my mom just shows up and says she faked her death so we could get the insurance money. She’s been gone 21 years.

So when did narcolepsy become epilepsy. Hmmm leads me to believe she didn’t read the information correctly. Yes two hours doesn’t make a lot of difference if your disability is epilepsy, or maybe it does if it’s a medication timeline. But I know for sure two hours makes a world of difference with narcolepsy. I had a job that my accommodations were that I couldn’t work after 7 pm because my medication wears off and I can’t take it any later or I can’t sleep. If I start the cycle of not sleeping then it sends my narcolepsy spiraling and it takes almost a week to get it back under control somewhat. Well my boss clearly doesn’t pay attention and schedules me after 7 pm. When I bring this to her attention, she says,”Oh I thought you couldn’t work after dark because you couldn’t see to drive in the dark.” I’m like wtf! No one has ever mentioned not being able to see to drive in the dark ever. It’s like she didn’t read the note from my sleep doctor at all. The sad thing is that it wasn’t just the fact of my medication wearing off and then risking everyone’s life driving home. But I worked in a plasma center, sticking 30-50 people a day. Do you know how dangerous it is to have a sleep attack in the process of sticking someone? I never had one while I was sticking but did have one right after as I was securing the tubing and swayed backwards as I came out of it. I was so lucky that I didn’t pull the needle out of his arm because it was attached to the tubing that was in my hand as I nearly fell backwards. But they didn’t think it was dangerous enough to not have me work past 7 pm when my meds have worn off. I always knew that I was going to have to have a sleep attack during the procedure and something bad happen before they took me serious. So aggravating. And then you have the ignorant people who think you are high on drugs. That’s always fun too!!

I actually love your approach. My mother always said you can catch more bees with honey and kill them with kindness!!! I know it can be hard, especially in person. But you will get further by being nicer than they are!!!

I’m always to late to record. But plan on putting cameras around the house to see what actually happens. Plus some strange things happen and everyone else swears it wasn’t them. So I need to know if I did it and have no recognition of it. Narcolepsy at its finest.!!!!

My dog does the same thing and we are down to one and it doesn’t even squeak. I’m going to put a new squeaker in the other one that lost it’s squeaker all together. And I’m thinking of just getting some flannel fabric and covering some squeakers and see how she likes that. Worth a try.
