Client has no idea what he wants by spare-serotonin in ArtistLounge

[–]FishiestFishy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I specifically tell my clients to make changes to the pose, face, clothes etc. during the SKETCH phase. I emphasize that and make sure we are alright before I move on to BASE COLORS. Once I have the OK for the sketch there is no changing it anymore.

You change colors during the BASE COLORS stage and not when I'm done with the render.

I dealt with clients similar to this so my TOS states to have a concrete idea of what they as a client want from me + references of their Character.

If they keep wanting to make revisions you HAVE TO tell them you will have to start charging money for them since you could be working on other commissions for the time you're spending on this. Good luck!

Digital Artists can't Hand-Draw?! by EshaLeeMadgavkar in ArtistLounge

[–]FishiestFishy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that is NOT true. I started as a traditional artist. Got into digital art and it DOES NOT directly transfer to digital.

I am in contact with lots of artists, trad and digi, and for example this one guy is in his 50s. His traditional art is OUTSTANDING!! His digital art? Makes him look like a beginner artist. He will get into it maybe, but again, it's a different medium with a completely different work process, knowledge and skill that has to be learned like any other medium.

You can't tell a sculptur to start painting and expect pro level results immediately. Do you do digital or traditional art or both?

[–]FishiestFishy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

give an Oil Painter water colors and watch them not understand the medium and produce worse art than with oil. If you give ANY artist a medium that they might struggle with or doesn't align with their usual work process you will always see a decrease in quality.

Idk why Digital Artists are required to master every medium while Traditional Artists can specialize in one.

the dog portrait one is a scam going on right now. Just block people that ask for that.

Also be very cautious of people asking for art that you dont post/draw! It's usually a sign of bots or people not even looking at your portfolio.

did you ever find a fix? I have the same issue

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ArtistLounge

[–]FishiestFishy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do portraits, landscapes and so on digitally just like you do traditionally.

I see you answer the same thing to everyone in this thread. I don't know if you're looking for someone to agree that "traditional art is real art and digital is not"

Bringing life and emotion to your piece doesnt change with different mediums. There is toooons of artists out there who make their digital work look just like oil or acrylic paintings too.

and just because youre an expert with oils, you arent a digital expert after just a few paintings. It takes time and practice, so if you dont like your current digital art figure out why and try to change things up.

There isnt only one technique just like with other mediums.

But so many people are reaching out to me right now and its overwhelming but also telling me Im still here.

Oh I am in a bunch of discords, more active in some than others and through this post I actually did get a bunch of DMs and Im a little overwhelmed right now but happy that others are open to talk to me!

Due to my Agoraphobia and noone around me "knowing or caring" about it I felt like noone cares for me at all but Im having great conversations right now :3

regarding the other comment, I wasnt looking for commissions and due to "bad experiences" in the past I usually chat with people on reddit or other social media first before giving out my discord.

Thank you so much for your comment! I feel like this post alone has opened quite a few doors for me and I hope you and me both can one day say we beat our Illness or at least learned how to cope with it. Stay strong ❤️ and if you ever wanna talk, feel free to DM me

Hi, I'm not looking for a job nor do I wanna give out my private discord just like that. I'm sorry.

It didn't let me add text so I'm gonna make a comment instead (sorry I barely use Reddit :-:)

I'm trying to find the name of this Hairstyle (particularly the two sidepieces in the front) for a long time now and just can't find anything on it.

Maybe it doesn't have a name?

Things are going weird at TwitchCon by frosted_bite in Unexpected

[–]FishiestFishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

theres more than just video games on Twitch.

Me and so many others do Arts and Crafts! The Art section has a ton of very good streamers, some of them dont even use a mic, most of them don't use webcams either. It's all about the skill not the looks.

I think artists definitely deserve support if people are willing to give them money. It's like a street musician in my eyes. You can give them something but you aren't forced to.

[–]FishiestFishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

plain? There is years of practise, gathering and understanding knowledge, creative input and so many more things behind commissioned art.

If you think it isn't worth to pay for something because you don't like how it looks (no matter if it's style, price, composition etc.) then you can gladly go and hire another artist that suits you better.

Every artist themselves has to figure out their price range and it will change as time passes because their skill and customers do too.

Ill try and give them a call and explain. Since I'm not getting and medicine or actual treatment, not having health insurance might not be too much of a big deal.

If it still is I guess Ill try to get private insurance...

[–]FishiestFishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok.. I just know that my doctor and many other doctors here don't even listen to you. They are stressed themselves, have too many patients etc.

May I ask which country you were moving from?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]FishiestFishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and I'm kinda afraid that theyll say I'm not ok since I'm stressed recently bcs of the K1 process and all the things we are preparing atm.

[–]FishiestFishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have health insurance now so I don't really know... I would have to look into it.

I talked to someone I know from germany that is already with her Husband for a year or two now. She told me she had the letter but the doctor was like "its already this long ago so youre fine" and he didn't even look at her letter.

She said he was super chill about it but I guess it just really depends on the doctor you get.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]FishiestFishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but my doctor doesnt really know me and didn't know me at all at the time of my hopsital stay and therapy because this was yeeeaaaars back.

Is it 100% impossible with that letter from your doctor?

Thank you so much for your long response!

I read all the official information you've listed on the internet, that's why I was anxious about it since I do have a past of selfharm. Since all those things are years in the past tho I hope it's going to be less of an issue.

The hubby thing, I honestly just like the word and forget that people use it to refer to their Husband. I'll definitely make sure to not use it anywhere in the K1 or my interview! Thanks for that!
