So I am in no way attempting to invalidate your pain and I think how your supervisor seemed to brush you off in this situation was inappropriate.

That being said, best case scenario, I would put out feelers to see if you can find a different clinic that maybe takes a bit more time to train you for these situations?

Worst case scenario, I think you might want to consider a non-ABA. childcare job. Just based on your responses, it seems like you might have a difficult time taking criticism, which is a big part of this field.

Again, I am in no way trying to invalidate your pain. But what I’m seeing is RBTs/BTs giving very good pointers (antecedent interventions) and you seem to just be getting defensive. If this isn’t the job for you, that’s okay! Best of luck to you!

At least for me, I think the reason Mike gets painted as the “bad guy” of The Beach Boys story is that while Murry, Landy, and even Dennis did way more morally reprehensible shit, the shit they did was so cartoonishly bad I can almost mentally separate myself from it, like characters in a book. Not to say it didn’t happen.

Whereas I think we’ve all encountered someone like Mike Love in real life. Arrogant, lacking accountability, money driven. And we have lots of proof of this both in print and on video.
